OK... I am seriously craving some carbs... hope this goes away!

Also, I think if I have to eat meat again I am going to puke... I seriously need some Atkins recipes.

Yesterday... B'fast... feta omlet with tomatoes
Lunch... BBQ pork, green beans, and turnip greens
Dinner... boiled shrimp. and three boiled eggs

Today... B'fast... 1 piece of cubed steak
Lunch/dinner... baked ham, green beans, small portion of chicken.

I have also snacked on beef jerky, pork skins, etc...

I am in a rut!

RNW:  I remember feeling exactly like you do now....  meat and salad was the mantra of the day when I did the Atkins diet.  I found this website and it looks promising.  Lots of low carb recipes and this particular section is specifically for the induction phase.  Hope this will help you out and give you a little more variety.

Jerry, don't think of it as being "in a rut", think of it as being in the groove!

I told him the same thing.  I thought of a couple of meals he might like, may try tomorrow...what do you think...
lettuce, turkey, cheese wraps and chili with meat only covered hot dogs.  I am trying to think of things to make where I can add another thing for the kiddies to make it a meal so Jerry won't feel so left out.  I know it is hard on him to eat with us when we have delicious carbs with our meals.  I wish I could do it with him and help in a way, but just can't right now with a newborn, so I am sticking to uping my exercise.

Positive for the day...I could already tell a loss in Jerry, his pants are really loose!!!

It's hard and you are doing the right thing .... just fix the staple item for him and "add to" for you and the kiddos.

Don't add the wraps in just yet.  Give it the full two weeks of induction.

We cut up hot dogs (Oscar Myer - the ones with <than 1 carb each) and cover with chili (Texas Pete hot dog chili sauce from Kroger), onions, cheese, mustard and low carb Heinz ketchup (Kroger).

Taco salads w/no beans - just don't eat the shell.

I have a meatloaf recipe to die for, as well as low carb quiches, chicken parmesan, brocolli chicken casserole, taco soup and the list goes on.

Seriously, this is the best website: http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/index.html . She even notes which ones are "induction friendly".

Snacks:  If he likes bran type muffins, you can make the flax muffins (0 net carbs) they are very filling for a snack.  I can get you some other ideas.

If you stick to this, once you get out of the "rut" ... you'll be in the "zone" and the inches/pounds will just start falling off.

you could have a big ole hamburger Jerry....use large lettuce leaves as your bun...

it's messy and delicious...

breakfast was always easy for me with Atkins...I'm not a big breakfast eater so a boiled egg and cheese always worked for me...quick and easy but I usually have grilled bacon and fried eggs on weekends....

grilled chicken salads are good...

CVS has atkins low carb bars on sale this week 1.00 each for those that may have a sweet tooth..I sometimes just eat a low carb bar for breakfast

strawberries or blueberries are good snacks

my favorite veggies are broccoli and asparagus w/ cheese sauce

you could try deviled eggs instead of plain boiled eggs as a side dish...

You know whats funny??? I too think just plain lettuce is great...I really do

sunflower seeds are an excellent snack and good on salads

I must go to CVS.  I have some CVS bucks I need to use.  Unrelated, I notice they have Diet Dr. P on sale 5 - 12 packs for $9.  That's less than 2 bucks each.
