| I don't know if this is in the right place, but I know a lot of people are on this site and I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a weight loss challange? It is so hard to lose weight, but even harder if you don't have someone to do it with. Let me know if you are interested and we will get something going!

| Contact Travis Martin at Thrive Weight Loss. He's the best! His 7 week program is $275, but he may be willing to give a corporate rate if you get enough people to sign up at one time. The program is all about real food, combinations, timing, portion control and journaling. It makes sense and he teaches you the science behind it so you can make it work for you and keep the weight off when you're finsihed with the seven weeks. PM me if you are interested in knowing how to contact him.

"Interested"-Thanks for posting that information. I don't have the extra money to spend on that right now...I will be doing some good old fashioned diet and exercise myself!
Thanks for the replys guys!
What do you say we start this thing up on Monday? That way it gives everyone a chance to see it and we can all start with a fresh week. The first Challange can go from May 12th-June 12th. We can all make our own goals and check in everyday with our progress and how we are doing with the exercise and dieting.
My goal is going to be to lose 15 pounds which will average to around 3 pounds a week because we will have about 4 1/2 weeks. If I don't give myself a tight time frame then I will not do as well.
My plan will be to take in 80oz of water per day. Cut out sweets and "junk" food. I will not be eating after 7pm and no fast food! At least 30 minutes of cardio 3x per week and also weight training 3x per week.
I would love to hear your plans and we can all get ideas from eachother!
I look forward to this challange! =)

I am like you... gas and things are so high.. I am gonna stick with the old fashioned diet and exercise.
Plus, I am sure there are some fitness/nutrition gurus on this board that might toss in some valuable guidance.
Don't get me wrong... I am sure Mr Martin would help tremendously... its just... times is tough! lol

Well, with another student from the school asking me if I was pregnant again, I believe I will join this challenge. I actually only have 6 lbs to lose until I am pre-baby weight for baby # 4.
My challenge currently is to lose about 1-2 pounds a week. I plan on doing this by getting more exercise (well, more than what I get running after 4 kiddies and power walking the long halls of the school). I am still nursing our newborn, Emma Kate, so therefore I cannot go on a 'diet', I do try to eat healthy on a daily basis (but do enjoy McD's every now and then).
My challenge for the summer though is to work out even more,to tone muscles that haven't been toned for a couple years, and to hopefully lose 15-20 lbs by next fall. I would like to be pre-baby weight from baby #1 who was born 6 1/2 years ago.

Well I walk everyday already, so is anyone up for some walking around Rome?
I am walking about 4 miles a day right now. If anyone is interested PM me and we can meet somewhere. With gas prices so high and people from all over we could meet in different areas to walk. I do suggest to walk in neighborhoods instead of tracks. In the walking that I have been doing I have found that it is nice to walk and look at the beautiful yards instead of the same area over and over again. A different area every day makes for a pleasant walk.

| I am IN !! I started back on my Atkins on Sunday, and dropped 6lbs. I actually lost almost 50 last year, but gained 21 back. My short term goal is to drop the 15lb I gained back ... then I'll deal with the remainder of my goal. I have tried ALL the diets and lifestyles, but Atkins is the only one that works for me. So, as long as we can do our own plan, I'll bite for the challenge. HOWEVER, I refuse to post my weight, etc. ONLINE for all to see. Heck, seeing ME is bad enough .... but NO way will I post the #'s.

I am going to go and buy a scale today.. So if any of you want to come by the office and weigh in you are more than welcome to do so!
I think we should hype this as the "Great RNW Weight loss challenge"
I will post it on the main page and invite people to come in here and post and get involved.
