Not bashing, telling the truth.
No one bothered to tell the 6 yr old that when the priests asks if anyone has questions or comments, you are not actually supposed to have one.

| The preist did not last much longer in Virginia city, but it did cause me to go on and ask many more questions from that point forward.

Ahhh....people asking questions - exactly what the church DOESN'T want.

there was an old article back then about Jesus walking on water and how some sciencentist was trying to prove that stones were in the water that he walked on much the same as now they are saying there was ice.
I had discussed it with my mother and when went to church had asked about that.
I was told that anyone who questions the lords word should leave his sacred hall and reflect upon his soul before returning. This did anger many people that the preist could not even give a kid an answer, and he was replaced in about 3 weeks. But I never returned, and continue to read and question to this day.

I am really sorry that this priest treated you this way. Sounds like he was embarrassed because he didn't have any good answers to your questions, and used his authority to "shut you up."
