I do not think that anyone here wants the outcry of the public. They just want an investigation. What the "manager" does in her car is her business but lets look at this a little closer.
1. Manager:
2. Director:
3. Person who might have committed these actions:
4. Person claiming wrongdoing.
4 goes to 2, 2 sends them to 1, they both dismiss it. the problem is that 1&3 are friends. That is absolutely not right.
I just hope that whatever happens is fair to all parties involved.

J-Man, just Who do you want to investigate this INTERNAL workplace issue? Venting on these problems on a public forum doesn't gain any ground and will not solve any issues within the corporate structure. These are internal issues and although they may be in violation of state or federal laws, they don't have a place and can't be solved by whining about the problems on here. Bottom line.....If it don't affect me personally, isn't a safety issue or legal issue, then most of the community isn't going to care and you're looking to the wrong place for resolution or support.
Just my opinion.

I think it should only be investigated if a complaint is made. It should be handled by corporate compliance I assume.

I hear you. This whole thread is futile then. If the employees that are experiencing whatever abuses they perceive to be occurring then there are channels that they can explore to resolve their issues. Venting about them on a public forum probably won't solve anything and if the "other side" happens to read the same forum, then it may become a downward resolution of the original issues.

| I have read all of your comments. I believe the reason things go on like this is because people just want to sweep them under the rug. That is the problem today. Nobody wants to rock the boat.

That would pertain to many of the threads on this forum. Why post anything at all anywhere if there are other avenues to deal with it. Why? Because there is interest in it especially by folks who might be going through the same thing at their workplace. And maybe because these people don't know how to handle this issue and are looking for help. I agree that nothing will be solved here but if that is the criteria, why don't you tell all the other posters that their posts won't solve anything and are futile.

You must not be reading all the threads. 99.99% are very informative! The other % is this one.

Notice on a lot of the other forums that deal with issues at the workplace,
1) it's safety related (and not by some cockamamey theory, but by actual proof)
2) it has been presented to the proper authorities and was either ignored or denied AND, make sure you read this AND, AND there is proof presented of the proper channels being used unsuccessfully. Not just an assumption that nothing will be done.
3) People who were complaining actually
A) Identified themselves
B) Provided proof, such as documentation and photographs
4) For the most part the people doing the complaining stuck to issues that directly affected their complaint. They didn't try to dirty up the names of those were complaining against by sullying their reputations with unsubstantiated accusations of work place affairs, etc.
Y'all might wanna try those, in that order

Maybe I can help, maybe not.
I agree this is not the place to vent these issues. I also agree the EMS issue was different as it did affect the community as a whole.
If you have a complaint at FMC
Take it to your immediate supervisor. If fit concerns them, write to the department head.
If it concerns the department head, file a complaint with the Vice President in charge of your hospital department.
If you do not get the result you are looking for contact: Rick Tew - after you get ignored by him, you then contact: Kurt Stuenkel
If the issued is not resolved by him, file a complaint with Corporate Compliance.
If that doesn't resolve your issue, contact The Hospital Authority. Be aware Kurt Stuenkel is an officer on this board.
When all of this fails, either quit or contact an attorney and sue the %$#^ out of the hospital.
Trust me, this is the EXACT chain to follow. I am very familiar with it.

I can't address all of the issues presented here as I am not familiar with the way things are done at FMC. I will tell you though that when I complained about the way I was treated recently, I received an immediate response from both the patient relations people and a personal response from Kurt Stuenkel.
In addition, Mr. Stuenkel told me of the specific things that were being done to correct the problem.
Quite honestly, my complaint was somewhat petty but I was somewhat medically compromised at that point and did not need the grief. I thought the response was handled most professionally.

That's good to know.

| I work part-time at Floyd on the weekends as I am a full-time student during the week. I heard about all of these blog posts on this site and thought I would see what is being said but never expected this magnitude of a public fight going on. Floyd.... Well Beyond Expectations.... is that not the image we are all supposed to uphold? And this is the way all of you are doing it? By bashing each other, your superior and the entire organization you work for to the public? Job well done if all of Rome and Floyd County is seeing that we cannot get along together as an organization -- what a comfortable feeling when choosing a healthcare facility! What a disgrace!! I can't believe the amount of posts on here -- on both blogs -- the one regarding the battle in security and police, and the one about Management at Floyd. I am sure I don't know the half of it since I am only a part-time employee right now but this may aid me in making my decision as to where to seek full-time permanent employment when I graduate next year. I know every organization has its problems and will have problems but what ever happened to not airing your dirty laundry? I guess things must be a lot more quiet on weekends than they are during the week because all of this hype doesn't seem to go on when I am at work. I see security officers often and they are always friendly and helpful, other co-workers are helpful and not back stabbing, and my bosses are great. We work as a team. I see a lot of team work on weekend shifts. I have never seen security doing anything but being helpful to others and I have never seen any of the other staff being anything but helpful either. Everyone in housekeeping, the cafeteria, nursing/doctors, and administration has been nothing but nice. I am sad to know I am working for an organization that is willing to make it a public matter to go on the internet and bash other departments and other people maybe even within their own department.

Terrific post. That's why it is best for these type of things to be resolved internally. The public airing of dirty laundry does not bode well for public perception: patients or potential employees.
