| I just went back to the insurance with the state after being covered with the city of Rome for years as a spouse. My insurance now is a whole lot better with cheaper premiums. I mean with the city the deductible is $750 plus the co-pays, etc. They have a fitness program in place for at least some of the employees (I don't know about all) but it hasn't changed my husband's insurance at all. His premium went down when I came off. I don't pay the surcharge with the state so that's why mine isn't that bad but my deductible is now $200 with $20 co-pays instead of $35.

I know the fitness programs aren't a fix now but if they are consistantly managed over a few years they should really pay off.
by lower insurance claims especially major medical issues
lower premiums to the employees
less undiagnosed medical
less liability as the court are asking more and more why agencies are putting people into positions when they know they are not medically fit for the job
a major job benefit for recruitment and retention

There putting them there because they can't find people to replace them.

| OK, so here is my vent. It really peeves me when Cobb county or Dekalb county police pass me on my way to work (on the perimeter) all the way out in Bartow county. We know that a car running 65MPH does better with gas than a car running 80MPH. So if I have my cruise at 80MPH, then they are going how fast? and using OUR tax dollars so they can 'cruise' to work.

| Didn't know there was an 80MPH sign anywhere in Georgia.

Yeah but you're the one that said he had his cruise set on 80 so how fast were they going? LOL

I said my cruise was set at the perfectly (keep me out of trouble with the law) speed of 80, in a 70 MPH zone, and they blow by me like I am standing still, and you want to argue sematics... Hey pal, YOU don't pay my gas to work! However, WE all pay their gas to and from their house. So yeah... a huge difference!

That 70 MPH sign is the limit. Not a suggestion. You're right I don't pay for your gas so it doesn't matter what speed you go really.
I don't mind them doing 110 if they want to either, even though I pay for some of that gas they're burning. They may have a valid reason for going that fast. I'm not going to try and catch them to ask them but if I need them at some point, I hope they are willing to burn up some of your money to get to me when and if they're needed.

Must be, they pay me every week. I'm even there on time every day. I leave the house early enough to get there about 1/2 early in case something happens along the way. Why do you ask?

And I see plenty of people everyday in a rush to get to work (get cut off by), cause they could not make the extra time to allow for traffic or just because it is all about the ID.
I ask, because, according to state law, if they are responding to a call, they MUST have their forward blue and whites ON! Ergo, they are just heading into work.. besides, I see pretty much the same car ID numbers on a daily basis.

You'll have to ask some of the LE people on here about the requirement for lighting and such in what situations. I'm sure there are enough of them that will be checking in to comment on that particular subject, along with the 80 in a 70MPH zone legality issue. Still wondering what the "are you needed on your job" question was about though. BTW I do the speed limit to and from work, but then I only have to drive about 3 miles each way so that may explain why there isn't a need to get frantic about getting there.
Welcome to the forum and hope you enjoy Adairsville.

Let them check away! As for you being needed. If your job called you, and said, "hey, you need to be here right now!", would you speed to get there? Especially if you consumed petrol that took away from your co-workers bonuses? Essentially, you are saying that if they get a call to get to work (which means, they are running late, then that exonerates them from obeying the speed limits which we are all obilged to do. Oh, and while they are checking out my facts, make sure they check out whether they are exempt from the law as well. Including maximum speedlimits and right of ways when their rollers are on.
they abuse their privledges pretty much the same way the rest of us do... except WE pay their 4+ bucks per gallon. It is NOT just the the various PDs I rail against in the waste deptartment. It is all sectors whether government or not. But in the case of government, I the tax payer gets a say (or vote), where as, in your company, I do not... but happily in my company, I do. Let me know if your squid mind is still confused... I will type slower.
Go Army... (when was the last time we beat Navy? LOL) I was truly joking with the last sentence, I promise.. I have friends who are Navy.
