last year, I was standing around inside a local stop n' rob in Bartow drinking a cup of coffee and chatting up two pretty girls (both young enough to be my daughters). A "citizen" came by and said that I should have better things to do. I said, "you're right, excuse me". I then grabbed the thief I had been watching shoplift. It really doesn't get much better than that.
The look on the citizen-cop expert's face was enough to make my month. Sadly, this has been the only time that a point could be made so seamlessly

one more though not as good.
I had a citizen academy ride-along and when he got into the car, I took him straight down to MM 277 NB I-75. About 1600. I started north at the speed limit and as you may imagine, motorists wouldn't pass. By the time I made it to NB 293, the traffic management center in Atlanta was calling inquiring about what was clogging things up in Bartow Co. I had managed to back up traffic close to Grady Hospital LOL
Citizen said "If we ain't hauling a**, we're part of the problem, right?"
Uhh, yep

I can only guess that you and the County Govt are splitting the cost 50/50. I really would like to know what percentages are being paid, and by whom

I think a few people misunderstood my earlier post about the vehicle being marked "Floyd County Government."
This was not a cop car, it was a county government white truck.

| It is every year that the insurance goes up and then the county says they gave everyone a raise. the insurance has $100 deductible on perscrip. the office visit went up er went up and the cost for the insurance went up. So I just don't understand how they are saving us money?

While I Don't have a crystal ball let me take a shot at telling you the future. You will have to go in for a medical screening and if you have medical issues your insurance payments are going to skyrocket, you will also have to pay extra if you drink or use tabacco products, their even may be an extra charge if your spouse has the ability to be insured somewhere else.
I do not know to what extent that this will go to and if "controlled medical issues" will make it jump or not. This is not denying you insurance just tailoring to your risks.
I believe Cartersville starting this last year but Iam not sure. The city addresses this somewhat with the city fitness plan and kudos for them. All governments should immediately start these plans especially for public safety officers it will lower your insurance claims and improve your officers thus lowering your liability.

No crystal ball needed. Ask anyone who has state health benefits. Teachers and such. Already doing the smoking, and sur-charge if your spouse denies benefits offered thru another employer.

That was emplaced when I was still with the State but they didn't (at that Time) go so far as to base your premium on your bloodwork. I really don't blame the insurance companies so much they are seeing tons of claims and it is just going up as we age and our health levels drop. The fitness programs are the way to go as long as they are done fairly, realistically and across the board. Most of these programs would cost a whole lot less than 1 long term claim. The FBI several years age put a program out for 4 hours (paid) a work week to exercise. (monitored and required)

| You wanta cut cost, let me buy my insurance out of state and let me pick what I want covered, I hope I don't need insurance covering pregnancy. Your employer don't pay squat. They have a dollar value based on your service to them, including SS and medicare, they take that money from you instead of paying you what your service is worth
