| County family coverage is better than $120.00 every 2 weeks, and pays little or nothing on anything.

okay, roughly three times what I pay. as long as I go to a network hospital (and I haven't found one that's not), I have no out of pocket expense. prescripts: 15 generic, 30 brand name.
primary care doctor: 25 copay
specialist: higher but not much (not sure)
NO DEDUCTABLE
If I go crazy (a real possibility), I get the first 6 visits to the shrink included, after that it's the copay.
COME ON COMMISSIONERS: EVEN IF YOU CAN'T GET THEM A DIRECT MONEY RAISE, AT LEAST JUST MATCH OUR PROGRAM.

Yeah I have $100 at home to pay the co pay in an emergency! Floyd will hound you about it before you leave the ER...Redmond only ask if we could pay it now or would we need to be billed!

Bill,
More out of curiousity than anything, is the insurace companies the same for both or different? What are their names (if you know)?
I'd wonder, considering the costs, if one government body is just more thrifter (cheaper) than the other one for wanting to deal with payouts to the insurance companies.
I do agree with you, I'm just wanting to know the details in differences.

Our carrier is blue cross/blue shield. I don't know who the carrier is for FC. Getting well beyond my expertise here but I **suspect* that most insurance companies can provide whatever coverage that the group is willing to pay for.
You know, I think we have at least one insurance person on here who can probably tell you what is, from what is not.

I agree a crying shame. Its a crying shame that we allow commissioners that seem more interested in lining pockets (whos I let you figure out), building bridges to no where and beautifying the parks. They don't take the time to shop for insurance it is a competitive market. Basic question should be whats in it for our employees? Its a crying shame because floyd county employees have been over looked for years now its time for a change.

Here's your crying shame.....
I've got to stop at the bank this morning to get change. I turn off my car, get out, and walk in. As I walk past, I hear an engine running and look over to my right to see why.
As I do, I notice "Floyd County Government" on the side of the truck. A Truck! With the engine running! I look to see if there's a driver inside. There is. And he's looking through the RNT newspaper. Flipping through each page. A Truck. Engine Running. Sitting Still. Driver Reading A Newspaper.
What a waste of taxpayer's money......

you can roll down the windows and shut off the engine in tough times. and 4+ bucks a gallon is tough times. I agree.
We have started doing some of that as well. Car sitting way out on the north end of the County with engine off, gets a call, radios computers etc have drained the battery. obviously battery weak to begin with but it could have been catastrophic.

I could care less, If our protectors need to stay cool and keep the equipment going, leave the motors running. If our county cannot afford it they have built to many bridges. You guys keep your cars and use them as you see fit, unless you are using them as a taxi service. When I have a problem I want these people to fire their cars up and get here NOW.........to hell with gas prices, our county goverment spends too much on crap.

I agree with you gordon! I also agree with RGS, you are a tax payer and have the right to ask him to cut it off. Police get told who pays their salary all the time..........................why not parks and rec or Public Works....................What's good for the Goose........................!
