Well there is one thing we can both agree on and that is your posted comment "and when I was in law enforcement".
One thing for sure I can see why you are no longer in law inforcement.
And to think I was probably alive when you were in law inforcement. Lord what a scary thought.
Who ever you are you are really making a fool out of your self. You do know people read this don't you?
If I were in law inforcement I sure would be glad when you locked your lips because you are making all of them look quite bad.

Hate to be the one to break the bad news to you, but you are just as bad as anyone. So don’t go getting all self righteous on us here. Personally I have seen quite a few politicians put up a front during my life time. They try and act all clean but when you start to check them out some times you find that they are not as clean as they act. I think that if all voters would do some checking before they step into the ballot box we would all be allot better off.
All I have stated on this site is the truth. I was handed the three sheets of reprimands and before I jumped completely off the cliff I checked Burkhalters reprimands and I checked Hulsey’s reprimands. I found that what was printed at the top of the three sheets was absolutely the truth. Personally I do not know Steve Hulsey nor do I know sheriff Burkhalter.
When some one hands me something I do not take it and run with it. I first check it out because I want to be informed. I want to know who I am voting for. You should try it because you might like it.
Now I am open to checking any one out. So if you have something on Steve Hulsey by all means share it with us and if you are not willing to share it then why bring it up in the first place. If you start throwing out hints that some one could be rotten and then you do not produce then in my eyes you are far worst off than I could ever be. At least I am ready and willing to back up what I say. Are you willing to do the same? I sure do not want to vote for any one who has an arm load of black marks on their record. I can go to the library but could you at least give me a clue as to what I should be looking for.
After all as you can see I can’t even spell.
By the way the person who handed me the three pages of reprimands gave me the exact place to look.
Now you have thrown out some hints that Hulsey may be like Burkhalter. I sure would like to know what you have or know. What the heck let’s all be informed.
Sorry but when you jumped into this fight you put yourself on the same level. Please do not try and white wash what you really are.
Last but not least. If some one knew that a crazy person had cut your break lines would it not be nice if that some one told you about it? If some one cut my break lines I would surly want to know about it. So please share your hint with us all. Oh I know you don’t want to stoop to my level. Got news for you friend you already have. Only deal is you went allot lower that I did. One other thing you need to be corrected on and that is this. Bad mouth and facts are two different things. Bad mouth is when you throw out hints and nothing else. When some one is willing to back up what they say then I would be willing to call that a fact So why don't you tell us all something and change your bad mouth to facts.

Ok I am finally here and will weigh in.
One if you must spell bad, click the little check with the abc at the top right it will correct for you.
Two My own daughters have a ton of black marks on there record, and some where for doing what they were not supposed to do, but did it to help a friend. Granted they are 6 and 8, but they know not to walk all the way down to our mail boxes. But went against daddies word to help a friend that fell off a bike and skinned knee real bad. By you way of thinking, I guess it is good they are not running for office.
I prefer to look at what has been accomplished, and that is all good. We now have great programs, the officers are showing light in their eyes of respect and honor again, and the community really has benefited from all his programs.
So unless you can prove 100% that he is a horrid murderer or a Colombian drug lord he has my vote.
And yes the library does offer many books on spelling also.

I must throw the d**n bulls**t flag! Don't have a dog in the hunt b.s.................Steve Hulsey had a "Free Matt Dunagan" sign in his yard. When romegasir said that you were family....he was talking about Matt's family. The Library, Oh hell fire I will do it, if anyone will! Just call steve and ask him why he was no longer allowed to be a City Reserve officer. I am going to go ahead and call you out about the "file" print it or I will. You know why? Because it wasn't newsworthy four years ago and it ain't now. It is not even an issue. His record over the last four years are. Hulsey has no choice but to go dirty and this is it. If you don't post the file, I will go ahead and get it out now. I think the term is "ain't skeered!" If you have never had a write up you haven't done enough to make a difference which is what Kevin Poe wants.......................a dadgum puppet for sheriff. Fire away justice.........I got my guns loaded to the gill! I hate dirty politics and will not let someone who lives in a glass house throw rocks and shove deception and lies down peoples throats. You force my hand!
One more lesson........the case has been remanded back to the trail court to let the fact finding jury hear some facts of the case that didn't get heard.
Guilty or not guilty are the only two results in a trial. No one gets found innocent........and not guilty doesn't not mean innocent. Getting a not guilty in this case would cause the same reaction in peoples minds that the Oj case did. They would lose faith in the justice system because of proceedural mistakes cause people to go free. Everyone knows oj did it. Couldn't prove it beyond a reasonable doubt, but the perponderance of the evidence said he did. Same case here if not found guilty. The later is my bet!

Reprimands and citations should be part of an employee's personnel file and has no place being made public regardless of the circumstances or who's personnel file it is, unless said employee releases the information. This should apply to public officials also. Anything short of that is probably a gross violation of the privacy laws.
Instead of all the arguing over who did what and who didn't do what, let them both do the following:
Detail to the public their verifiable and pertinent detailed backgrounds and experiences which applies to being qualified for the position they are seeking.
Explain what their vision is for the office and the department, the reasoning behind their viewpoints and how they intend to accomplish the goals. With that criteria in mind, they should be able to explain also how they expect to finance those goals, any obstacles they expect to encounter and how they plan on overcoming those obstacles.
Detail the issues that they deem detrimental to the safety of the public and present a plan for correction of these issues. Public Safety after all is the management position they are seeking or attempting to retain.
The Matt Dunagan saga is a whole other issue, not applicable to the Burkhalter/Hulsey campaign and Matt Dunagan is what this thread was intended to discuss. There is another thread dedicated just for the Sheriff's race.

And why was he forced to resign from the Sheriff's Office?

I think this thread has started to get off topic.... In my opinion, items in people's personnel file should be left there.
We need to stop slinging mud... that goes for both sides.
