Has anyone come in contact with the short, older lady with stringy hair and minimum teeth with the little girl tagging along beside her at Walmart asking for money? Well if you have not, BEWARE!

A friend of mine told me about her last week and low and behold, she approached me last night around 10:00pm at Walmart in East Rome. She looked like the typical meth addict searching for her next hit. What is so sad is that the little girl looked to be about 9-10 years old and seemed to be following strict directions given to her to be quiet and look pitiful. This whole situation just made me furious! I refused to give her any money and if my own family had not been with me I would have told her what I thought about what she was doing. (Please don't let me see her again and be alone) ;)

I did see her approach another vehicle and they DID give her money. I just can't believe that people aren't more aware these days of people like her. Most of all I feel sorry for that child. I can't imagine what she must be thinking when she is walking around different Walmarts on different days with the same old "I ran out of gas" excuse". It's truly sad.

I just wanted to get the word out about her so that "we" don't supply her habit anymore.

Goodness, April, I thought you were talking about me for a minute with your description.

You are right about it being hard on the child. Most of us can't imagine and any parent who would put a child in that position. If it happened only once, you might think she was telling the truth but when it continues to happen, you get leery of helping anyone.

I really don't even think the child belongs to this lady. The child seemed well taken care of in the sense of physical appearance.

I happen to have a drug addicted family member with children and it makes me so angry! I informed DFACS of their situation many moons ago. DFACS went and checked them out, gave them a weeks notice before drug testing them and then of course they cleaned their system and the tests were clear. DFACS closed the case and things have only gotten worse. The mere visit to their house should have been the first sign of neglect!

Not sure that DFACS can handle the caseload on children affected by drug infested homes. It's just a sad situation especially for the innocent.

I just wish you could have seen the look on that little girl's face. It's almost like she knew I didn't believe the woman's story and when I didn't give her money, she drug the little girl off to the next vehicle.

I would have loved to have said "Sure I'll give you money for gas, where is your car and I'll follow you to the pump". Or I should have said, "Didn't you run out of gas last week at the Walmart in West Rome"? I despise liars!:X

H*ll just send them to the SSI office they are experts at taking care of the drug addicts and drunks they will just have to label them as disabled and then your tax dollar will take care of the poor pitiful me addict.

Cause they sure don't help the ones that need it!!!!!

edited to add DFACS is a joke!!!

April, you are sooooooo cro-magnon(sorry RGS) with your thinking.  You know that we should just give them money, they might need something to eat.

YEAH RIGHT!!!

I bet if you had offered to by her food instead of money that she would have refused to take it and insisted on money.

If you see her again.........................call 911!

Been reading the post for sometime now so I thought I would join in with my two cents. It is a sad day when someone is to lazy to work, but has all the energy in the world to beg.
