I went to see "The House of Wax" in 3D back in the '50s and I paid $0.15.  I called to get the show times on Hanna Montana in Cartersville so I could take my grandkids.  Was I surprised to find tickets sell for $18.  This has gotten way out of hand.  I have already told them I would take them, so I guess I'll just bite the bullet.

The movie has already ran for longer than they said it would.  I'm not sure how much longer it will run.  They had said it wouldn't come out on DVD but I'm not sure that will be the case.

There is a really nice theatre in Huntsville that is showing that movie for $15.  I know it's a drive but from what I hear, just that theatre is an experience....leather seats that recline, holders for your popcorn and drink.....serve dinner....it's one of those red carpet kind of theatres except regular people can afford it....LOL

$18 is a rip off!

They are just taking advantage of the popularity of HM among the children. They know many parents will give in and pay the money rather than risk disapointing their child.

In 5 years HM will be replaced by the nexy big child star and her future straight to DVD movies will end up collecting dust in the discount bin at Blockbuster.

I agree.  Thank goodness mine is not really "into" any particular "character".  She likes them all.  She is 6, and we have seen Bear in the Big Blue House, Dora Live, and Barney Live; over the course of those 6 years.

And I thought $8.00 was high.

Some people will pay anything to give their kids what they want.

My poor kids had to settle for much less than that.

They got what they needed and if I could treat them with a little extra I did but $18 to get into a movie per person is ridiculous.

But gotta give it to HM though. Make it while you can because you will be replaced soon.

This is a 3D of the concert at the movies.  I figure that the cheap concert tickets were $85 and you couldn't hardly get them so this was a deal.  It was the first 3D movie I had been to so it was an experience for me as well as my daughter.  Since my daughters birthday is in Feb. it was perfect timing for me as I bought 3 movie tickets and a small birthday cake to have with lunch and that was still cheaper than any party you can have around Rome.  The theatre in Cartersville is also much nicer than any of the ones here.  All the little girls were dressed up just like they were going to the concert.  Hannah really is a pretty good character right now for my little one to like, not singing about stuff too adult and dressing half naked like a lot of the young girls.  The presale tickets were $15 so for $45 I really can't complain.  We had a great time.

great justification......................................the concert tickets were only $3000, so I figure I'm actually SAVING money by spending $400 for the movie ticket.......................................................................what is up with parents these days????????????????????????????????????????????  When we go out to eat, to the movies, to the mall, to the store, it has gotten to where if you actually see a well-behaved child, we look at each other with open jaws and say "gosh, what happened????!!!!!".............................don't get me wrong, I don't mean all of the little angels that are raised by RNW members, I'm sure they're all perfect, I'm talking about those other kids........................................Bad parenting seems to be amplified at all school sporting events............................................there is always that "location" where parents who can't stand their kids allow their kids to go hang out with no adult supervision; they all congregate and end up causing trouble (of course this is the fault of every child except mine).................the girls are all in a competition to see who can dress the most like a porn star

remember, I excluded our children, so no need to respond defensively. :P

I'm sorry just chit catting with a few moms I thought.  Didn't have a clue you would care about a Hannah Montana post.  If I had of known you were lurking I wouldn't have posted here.  I'm sorry for whatever has happened to you to make you such a negative person and so judgemental about everyone else's life.  I do have great kids and a great family.  God is blessing us and sometimes my children are rewarded for being good kids who receive nothing but praise from school, church, and the sport teams they participate on.

wooooo sensitive............the :P indicates to take what I say with a grain of salt or tongue in cheek, and it seems by your post that you know my style, so I can't imagine that you'd actually be offended........................

BUT...................were you actually offended and this is not some act of disbelieving shock, then I apologize.

I for one think a Hannah Party for under 50 bucks is awesome.

And RGS if you are so upset over kids not being cared for and not having any good role models from parents then step foward and help some out.

Hell I cant afford alot of things for my girls, but what I can they lovingly get, as I did not have much growing up I did not earn twice.  I want a little better for my girls, and Yes I do practice what I preach, as I do movies on the weekends for all the kids in my community, with fresh popcorn and lemonade.

Plus I try to schedule events thru the year to keep them all busy, like getting 2 other parents together with me and taking over 20 kids to Sloppy Floyd Park for the adventure day.
