Hey like i have already said, he needs mental help, but i bet he was there first. If they are scared they need to call the police or move themselves. He did not ask to be left in this situation, no one ever asks to be injured so severely that you can't function correctly, it is just a sad situation and i don't have all the answers sir, thanks by the way LOL

When exactly did you conduct the mental exam on him???????????????????????? or is that information privileged??????????

very funny, you have read the same things that i have, you can tell from the taped interview that he has some mental issues but hey that may have been privledged or i may have dreamed it who knows. oooh oooh i know i'm psychic

You may remember Mr. ____(fill in previously mentioned person)____; he was about to be removed from this neighborhood 2 years ago, but the fine folks of RomeWired decided to save him from his own choices with absolutely no contingencies...........................the victim of this crime stated "It's okay, he has a mental condition, so I didn't mind being the victim of a ___(fill in previously stated crime)___" ...................................

his house burned down last year, RNW did a story on him. he has been living at the house with his dogs with no water, electricity or job. the fine folks here on RNW forums have all banded together to help get his house rebuilt since he had no house insurance. rusty has agreed to a mental eval. and we are all volunteering our time and materials to help this man out.

JP, the man also has had head trauma and his mother, who has had a stroke and brain surgery is unable to help him. His brother is taking care of her and probably has his hands full. The bottom line is that Rusty has no family willing or able to help him.
It seems that some of his neighbors just want him out of the neighborhood either because they are afraid of him or because his home is a eyesore. There are others who have come forward to state that he is a "good guy" who needs some help. TJ who will be heading up the remodeling has known him for some time and seems to think he is worthy of the help. TJ said the man is a good artist and all his artwork and supplies were lost in the fire, that adds more trauma to his situation.
Obviously, we have some conflicting stories here. Tereca's mother lives quite close to the man and tereca has no qualms about extending help to him. We certainly don't want our good intentions to override our common sense and therefore we are willing to hear what anyone may have to say about the situation. In the mean time, we plan to continue with the project unless we are given proof that we need to call a halt to it.
Tereca and I will be going over, hopefully by the end of this week, to asses the situation as far as cleaning out the debris and smoke and water damage.
To address your situation, you said you are waiting for your disability, unless I misunderstood. Have you called your representatives? Phil Gingrey's office is very helpful in getting those claims resolved sooner. Newt Gingrich was in office when my husband applied and he was instrumental in getting his disability started within 3 months. Give it a try and let me know the result.

AHHH, the fly in the ointment! RG, several people have stated that the man had an accident that caused some brain damage. We do plan to have an evaluation done on him and he has agreed to it.
As for choosing to live in filth, depression may be the cause of that and obviously, he has had enough trauma to cause depression. From what I have been told, he may need to be monitored for paying bills, taking meds, etc. His decision making capacity may be impaired to the point that he is not capable of taking care of himself. Should that be the case, and he were confined to a home or institution, then any work done on the home could only benefit the neighborhood and would certainly increase the possibility of a sale, should it come to that.
