to the people /persons involved in  the emergency  radio network -each time  there is dangerous weather in the  northwest  Georgia area:...AN EXCELLENT JOB EACH AND EVERY TIME!   all and singular, each of you ham radio/repeater users  make a tremendous difference in our lives and the lives of many others...we have  listened  to the radio traffic  during the storms  when our personal stress and duress is high and the calmness, and professionalism, and sometimes humorous  tones in your voices is most comforting indeed. we  virtually hang onto each  transmission, for all of the  radio  respondants, checking in and  reporting weather conditions in their  ''neck of the woods''...and  we  find great comfort when the all-clear is called... we have grown to trust you and rely upon you, during these times,  and you are  a blessing....each and every one of you, from alabama, to  chattoga, to floyd, to bartow, to polk county...we are a scanner family, who has a scanner in every  room just about, and we drop all traffic and are glued to everything you say,  when there is a severe weather event . we  hear you on a frequency of 146.940 and we are glad that you are out there wherever..reporting  the conditions, in a professional, and timely  manner.. you are a very important part of the community, the communications community, and  our family!.. may the good lord watch over each and every member of this  wonderful radio community, and may he keep you and your  equipment safe that you may continue to carry on this very  important  service you provide to the community at large!...thank you for saving our lives many times over..and we look forward to  some of the  better days  of  your network, when things are less stressful,  when there is not a cloud in the sky...and you guys get quite  silly... anyways....keep up the gret work, and we  thank you once again...for helping us stay safe... Thanks for the support.  If y'all enjoy scanning that much you should consider becoming an amateur radio operator (ham).  It is virtually painless and no longer requires morse code.

thanks for the encouragement. i have heard some legendary '' radio voices in there,  and a few humorous moments, like the time when  some  ham radio guys kid picked up the radio(in chattanooga) during a severe weather event and wanted to chat to the control operator. he (the  operator) politely tried to tell the  visitor'' to keep all the transmissions to  weather related  information, and we waited to see what he/she had to say next...such cool, and calm  despite the  enthusiasm of the visitor to the net'.the little kid just was fascinated with the radio...he probably  didnt understand the severity of the  situation, with the weather... and i was relieved when he finally signed off. for your alls sake..so you could carry on the business of relaying information..! ..(i think his dad pulled up in the driveway or something).they are  moments to be remembered...  anyways... i am   working on low band fm pirate radio  around my house 500mw or less.and  trying to see if it(signal) gets past my mailbox. its  occupying most of my leisure time ..but the kids love it...they all are ''radio stars''.. plugging their cd players in and playing d.j.  for the  day.we mostly monitor the ham  traffic, because you guys definitely have it all well in hand...and as the saying goes...lead-follow...or get out of the way...so we  stay out of the way.... we are an electronic-oriented bunch... with gadgets and gizmos.. and  mostly... amateurs.. not ready for prime time(yet).plus, the  scanner helps to overhear what polk p.d. and  c.p.d  is up to and hear what the boys in  blue are getting themselves into......however, we  maintain a lot of respect and admiration for your  structure, and purpose serving the community in the  ham radio bands. it deserves a lot of respect, and the highest regard.
