My ancestor:
Mac Bionaid (Bennett), Art (1793-1879), poet and scholar. Born in Ballykeel, near Forkhill in south Armagh, and a stonemason by trade, he transcribed manuscripts for Roibeard Mac Ádhaimh in Belfast. He wrote occasional verse in traditional modes. About twenty of his manuscripts survive.

Thanks Gaelic Writer and all others who responded to my article with compliments.
Since I am 75 and figure I have got to be very focused and careful how I spend my remaining years--not act as an immortal who has forever--as I have frequently acted--I dare not post my phone number but I will be happy to respond here to any important concerns you may want to discuss and I will appreciate any comments you make. Thanks.

Hey Gaelic Writer,
Nofoot is me, Serpentfoot. (I'm also "Allfoot"). I used that for a pen name when my password would not work under Serpentfoot, which is my legal name. Thanks. Serpentfoot

Having a majority of Irish blood coursing (or perhaps cursing) through my veins, I was intrigued recently when I found a book at Barnes and Noble entitled "A History of the Irish Race", and seeing as how it was in the bargain bin (the blood curses), I bought it and read it. Laborious reading, but I was dumbfounded by the time I was through. I don't mean to belittle anyone, but My God; several races of people on this planet can complain all they want about persecution, but until they understand what the British tried to do to the Irish, only to have the Irish remain steadfast against all odds do I think that they ... Heck, it's too early, I lost my train of thought! Darned ADD.
Anyway... I think it was the Greeks who referrred to Ireland as the ancient land. Think about it. But where is this history today? The British did everything in their power to eradicate any history Ireland had. Looks like they did a pretty complete job, eh what?
