Dude, don't think that i am knocking you, cause i am not, But, I have never even heard of those people or groups. Make me feel older than I really am. Oh well, You may have never heard my type music either.
Steve Earle, Black Sabbath, Led Zepplin, Deep Purple, AC/DC. These are a few of the style I listen to now. And I was raised on the Beatles, Sam the Sham And the Pharoes, Stones, the Monkees, all of the older things. I had 2 older sisters who commandeered the audio equipment. so I had to listen to what they wanted. As I grew up, I found my own style was more into the country side. but I still like the classics and oldies. and sometimes I even listen to classical music to soothe and calm me down. Now I listen to the Hellbilly styles of music such as Hank 3 and others. but most of the time I stick with groups and styles I know.

FRL, I don't know most of them either, except for Incubus, Puddle of Mud, and Sublime...... blame the little knowledge I have of them on my 25 year-old son!
You poor thing.... the 2 older sisters, while they have impeccable taste in classic rock, probably on occasion made you listen to Bobby Sherman, Donny Osmond, and possibly even David Cassidy, all lil heart throbs for the screaming teenage girls... back in the day. As for the Monkees, I'm sure you witnessed several arguments between your sisters as to their favorite one and why. Me, personally, it had to be Davy Jones.... without question!

I grew up on grunge/punk music. The Offspring, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Green Day, Sublime, Stone Temple Pilots, and Foo Fighters are some of the bands I listened to when I was kid.
When I was in middle school I got more into Nu Metal and more punk music. Sum 41, Blink 182, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Korn, Good Charolette (before they went emo), Taking Back Sunday, etc.
Then in highschool I started listening to metal, hard rock, and electronica.
I still listen to all those genres, but I would have to say one of the most unique genres that intrigues me the most is hard rock and electronica mixed together. Bands like Rammstein, Rob Zombie, Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, Spineshank, Ministry, Powerman 5000, and Static-X I like because they mix electronica and rock music together.
When I first started managing at Treasure Island you knew I was there because most of the time their was electronica/techno music playing. This was especially true in the mornings because most of the employees that worked in the moring didn't care to listen to it. In the afternoon and on weekends I would play pop music because all my employees hated electronica music

- Randy Rhoads
- Tran Siberian Orchestra a.k.a. Savatage
- Beethoven
- J.S. Bach
- Paganini
The last 3 are definitely rockers back in their day. Much of 80's rock and even some modern day rock wouldn't exist without these guys.
I really don't have many 'favorite' songs that come to mind, but here are a few that come to mind.
- Crazy Train, Mr. Crowley, Revolution (Ozzy w/ Randy Rhoads) and Dee by Randy alone.
- The Storm, Wake of Magellen, Edge of Thorns (Savatage)
- Civil War (Guns n' Roses)
- Wasted Time, 18 and Life (Skid Row)
- C.C. Road, Final Resting Place, The Call (Southgang)
- Desert Moon (Great White)
- 45 (Shinedown)
- House of Pain, Your so Vein (Faster Pussycat)
- Desperado, Hotel California (Eagles)
- Cemetary Gates (Pantera)
There are many more to list in both categories, and these aren't necessarily my top favorites, but they are some of what I personally consider the best.
Thanks!
