I read an article (Im sorry to say in the RN-T) about Ron this morning. The article talked about Ron's taxes. Which are paid, and the others will be paid by his partners. It really seems to me, for that to be reported at the time it was reported ,that Someone in the tax office has been checking up on Ron. Could it be that Someone  might be using his own office to try and get dirt on somebody else and relay that on to the RN-T. Why were not all the other people who are late reported in the article. Kinda seems to me that our current "APPOINTED GOOD OLE BOY" is wanting to start mud slinging. (I refuse to call him the incumbent, because his office was gave to him, not elected) I can't stand to see elections get dirty. Some people love it , but most of us  are very tired of it. I believe if he chose it on himself to report it to the paper, just because he is  being ran against and wasn't going to get to keep his office without  having to get out and earn it, his ethics must come into question. I now, more than ever will support Ron Morris. I just plain want Payne to lose, just because of the article. No two cents on this one ....its free

I would agree with you it seems a bit shady, can anyone dispute that fact. You have to earn the office to be called the incumbent. I WILL SUPPORT MR. MORRIS. Why would anyone that was given the job try to sling mud? I guess if something was given to you and you didnt earn it you would probably run a little scared and attempt to dis-credit the one that would not only earn but deserve the job.

I have never herd Mr. Morris say anthing bad about anyone.

DIRTY POLITICS!!!!!  Seems Mr. Payne used his job to get information that could not have been done through open records, because of the time issue, for his personal gain. This garbage is why good people don't run for office and we are left with little choice.  The Public will not stand for this kind of campaign!  Do it right and if you win, you win but please have ethics and dignity.

Seems Mr. Payne lives in a glass house, but still throws rocks.

Seems Mr. Payne Tried to Bomb Pearl Harbor unprovoked!

I don't know but I heard that  the 509th Composite Bomb Group is in the Air, The Enola Gay is preparing to drop her package!

"little Boy"!

Stand by for Hiroshima and Nagasaki and this will end this one quick!!!

I am so glad to see that I am not as narrow-minded as my wife has told me. I am thankful that there are other people that see things the way I do. I hope that people wanting to run for these public offices see that most of us are really tired of "The Dirt". Why not run clean campaigns? One more thought that anyone running for office had really better remember.Be real sure there is nothing (nothing at all) in your past that you wouldnt want brought up, if your going to start the mud slinging. This doesnt only apply to this race , but all the races. Becareful the the ones that support you, dont start it for you. My best advice is keep it clean boys,  I have talked with many folks today about this and they have all felt same way I do. Looks like the "GOOD OLE APPOINTED ONE" has pooped in his own plate.

That does seem awfully dirty.

The article didn't say when that someones taxes got paid either, just that they were paid.

Well now they both have paid taxes.

Gator, that seems nice, but if we did that........we would vote out many.  Here lies the problem........no good people usually want to run because they will not put their good name and families through it because of dirty politics and mudslinging.  We need good people who are honest that will run for office that don't think they have to slime their way into that office.

I agree with you O.P.

Just tired of people that think the only way to get in office is to dis-credit a good mans name.

well, I know that a open records request is not necessary and anyone can go to the courthouse and get on the computer and look up all delinquents.................................................But,

the timing does seem a bit suspicious............especially the part of the story about "Kevin payne owns his home and paid his taxes on time".........the implication is (unlike that other guy)...................I'll vote for Ron no matter what because I know him and know he is completely above board...............

My suspicion is that the Rome News Tribune jumped for joy at the prospect of assisting with mud slinging against someone involved in local law enforcement.......................................they gnash their teeth at the thought of local law enforcement, as a whole or individually, making good............in spite of what their two-faced editorials might say................those are only feeble attempts to sell papers

I am guessing that since "Ole Jim" got him where he is "The Apointed One "didnt think he would have a problem staying there. I guess "Ole Jim" should have stayed. He didnt, so now the voters would like someone in office that has earned it. With that will come respect. Remember dont start spending the money that comes with the office until you know your going to get to keep it. It would really stink to think someone went out and bought all kinds of new things thinking he was going to get to keep just because one man said he would. Remember the elected offices are chosen by the people, Not one man, the county commission. WE ARE THE VOTERS!

:D I apoligize however, I must correct you on the statement regarding the "ONE MAN VOTE" Kevin Payne is currently holding tax-commissioner title due to Jim Ford making the decision for all of us Floyd County!!!!!! Wake up people, look around you................

When exactly did Kevin Payne pay his taxes?:??????? Are we allowed to ask? I  just know that he's special because it only took one man,(MR. JIM FORD) and unfortunately, just like  dirty magic, Kevin Payne is tax commissioner!!!! Wow.......... that took a lot of blood, sweat and tears out of good ole' Kevin, or did it???? NO!!!! PEOPLE!!!!!  IT WAS GIVEN TO THE MAN!!!!!!!

What qualifications did Kevin hold prior to the wonderful gift that was given to him by Jim Ford?

Can anyone answer this question? Does anyone know?  Does anyone know anything about our current tax commissioner?    Unfortunately, I know a lot more about him than I really wanta' !!!!!!!  You know exactly what i'm talking about, dontcha' Kevin?  Don't try and hide Mr. Jim, you know as well.  I'm not one to gossip ;)so, your secret's safe w/ me however, if I know---- it kind of makes one wonder how many others know as well.....................:shock:

I want to know what is the down side and up side to both of these people, there ain't nothing wrong with being a good old boy............key word, good, all I hear is he thinks the job was given to him, so lets not let him have it

I want to know what the dirt is on both of them, I know they have dirt, they are politicans.  Don't just say I have known him x amount of years, he is a great guy, he will give you the shirt off his back.............people will tell you the same thing about me........except my brother.  So lets get it out there, the upside and down side, I vote by qualications, morals and values...........I want to know what they are, not that he is a good guy, heck I am a good guy and I can use a calcurator, but I ain't qualified. Dang if I had more family members, I just might would run.
