I hope that Bob Barr is included in the debates, too.  I plan to vote for Obama, but I would really like to see Barr included.  I think some of his ideas are good, but his chances of winning the election are slim to none.  There has been some discussion that a  vote for Barr would hurt McCain and, therefore, insure an Obama victory.

I hope that we don't derail this political discussion already.  I couldn't care less about whether Barr's wife had an abortion or not.... there's some things that should remain personal.... and IMO that is probably one.

Yes, I have heard the remark about a vote for Barr is a vote for Obama.  I am realistic and know that Barr is an extreme outside chance at best.  He is the best Libertarian candidate that I can remember.  I do believe he will have at least a minor impact on the election especially here in Georgia.  Although I know that a Lib will probably never make it into the White House, I think a strong showing by Barr in this election will spur more people into looking into what the LP stands for and maybe put some Libs in local and state offices.

I have just become too disillusioned by both McCain and Obama to vote for either of them.  But I guess that's why we live in a country where we have the right to choose!

The time is ripe for introducing a 3rd party candidate.  Maybe with Barr's exposure this year, it will eventually happen.... maybe not this year, but soon.

I never really comment on political or religious topics. However, I saw a church sign this afternoon that I thought I'd share:  Even SAINTS have a past.

I completely agree with you.  The two party system is a failure and the people deserve another alternative.  If Barr is the least bit successful, it should spur further independent candidates into trying for their local and state offices at the very least.

I just can't believe the flip-flopping going on with Obama now. Now he is saying he wants to put more troops in Afghanistan. This is the candidate that less than three months ago was stating that he was going to pull troops out of there and Iraq.

His lack of experience is really starting to shine through. I have got a good solution for him. Go to Iraq and meet with the commanders, go to Afghanistan and meet with the commanders, then make a decision. He has no true clue as to what is really going on there.

John McCain is the only solution.

There's no flip-flop going on with Obama.  His withdrawal from Iraq was always prefaced with the disclaimer that it depended what was going on in the area at the time.  I don't ever remember a stance that he took with withdrawal from Afghanistan.  IMHO, the terrorists responsible for 9/11 are there, so it would make sense to go kill them.  Our casualty rate is on the upswing.  Convinces me that Obama is able to assess the situation and make good decisions based on that.
