I would like to here the thoughts about the following:

A very wise man high in the  state  told me that the State gov't had been tossing the idea around about requiring fingerprints in order to get a d.l.  At first I thought..........................ah ha big brother, but then he convinced me.  Driving is a priviledge and it would help tremendously is solving not only violent crimes against persons, but the growing number of burlaries and thefts. If anyone has been had their homes intruded knows how much it takes from you other items.  There would be a vast catalog of finger prints to match offenders to automatically by computer.  Besides if you don't do crime why should you worry?

They said that they hadn't done it because some of the legislators thought it would be too invasive, what do you think?  Think BIG PICTURE!

Your wise man in the state must have forgotten I had to place my finger in a digital scanner to copy my fingerprint one time to get a license renewed.

Yea, and I can give them my DNA at the same time. We let our freedoms erode in baby steps.

I had my finger prints taken every time I got a gun permit, why would I mind having them taken for a drivers licence?

A criminal is not going to get a gun permit but unless he is a county commissioner, he probably will get a drivers licence. If he has or is going to commit a crime, there is the possibility that through those finger prints, he will be caught.

There is also the posibility that if you are suspected of a crime that you did not commit, the same finger prints could clear you.

I really bet you wouldn't like the idea of getting a dna swab for everyone who is arreated or covicted of a crime.

I have no problem with it as well.  I have had my fingerprints taken in 2 differnent school systems, and by DFCS for foster care.  DNA swabs wouldn't be bad either.  I want all the criminals off the streets, especially the ones who hurt little babies, children, girls and women.

Last time I renewed I had to do this.  When did they stop requiring it.
