You got to be kidding me!  We are actually considering tearing down perfect fences and putting up wood fences that thugs can hide behind, drink, gamble, hide from the police.  I SAY NO!  it is a safety issue and economic stupidity to do that!

But where else am I going to play my weekly dice game and drink?

Also, could we start posting more sources for the things we're getting outraged about, because I can't find what you're talking about and it's hard for me to get equally outraged as well.

Where did you hear that?  I don't remember reading it.  It seems that it would be very expensive.

Is that in a new SPLOST or something? I agree, what a waste of time and $$$! Is that the solution to fix the fencing folks are mad about at the two parks (can't think of their names)?

Now there's a plan.  The people that are complaining about the fence are mad because there is now limited egress from the pharmaceutical farmer's market when the police show up.

I'm still waiting to see the artwork on the bridge to nowhere. Figured it would have had a mural on it by now.

Has been the in the local news for the last month or two.  They are talking about tearing down the new chainlink fencing that was put up 6 months ago, because some of the local residents (who capitalize on the criminal element and Commish Bill Collins think it makes Graham Homes housing complex look ugly and limits the people in that area from the "culture gatherings"(I call them riots and trouble).  They want them torn down and wooden fencing put up.  I think the estimate was over $85,000, that is over 30,000 gallons of gas for police vehicles at the gov't rate.  Go figure that one!

The best thing that they ever did was put cameras at 14th street and Spring Creek St.  Drug sales in that area that was once a haven in at a standstill.  They need to do it in Crane St. park and Crane St. at 12th Street.  Can't believe I think that......I hate big brother!

It is time to say enough is enough, and run these dealers out or lock em up.  They are making a living on someones addiction instead of getting a job and paying taxes!  Worse yet..................they do it in public parks where kids play and in public housing that we pay for.

I know what you say...............saturate the area with police presence!  They call that harassing them and discrimination.  I call it effective community policing.  I know that there are good honest people over there that appreciate it and welcome it and kids who appreciate the presence.

BIllT  what were you saying about getting an area designated high crime/drug area?  Send me the info!

Me and Punisher are working the parking aspect of the Fireworks at Ridge Ferry and were devising our plan last night.

We heard they've already put these post for one, at the main to the pavillion and next, possibly all around the parking area on the Chieftains side of the park.

If the second is true, I'm wondering how we're gonna get cars in there, that being our secondary parking area and plus, when Heritage Holidays rolls around, how in the heck are they gonna get all those campers and trailers in there for the wagon train camp?:?

That bridge is one of the reasons that I voted against the SPLOST

Ah, but we're also talking about Tolbert Park, a completely different situation. The RFCPRA, in their infinite wisdom, spent tons of money on putting in fences that were neither asked for or necessary. They then can use that spot as a designated practice field for their sports and kick everyone else out, aka, the residents who actually used the park as a place to play.

I don't think throwing more money at it is the solution, but it is definately RFCPRA's doing to begin with.
