That is what is great about this. It shows the inner workings. What better way to improve your business than to know the problems. Not all people are mentally strong enough to take a chance in losing there job by reporting a supervisor problem. Here is a good place to do it. Maybe some one with upper management is reading these posts and will try to fix the problem.

The couch in the breakroom is gone, and the boy is not employed there anymore! Give it a rest!

Yes, I know I said that I wouldn't post on here anymore but I just had to give an update on the whole situation.

Now that the culprit who was sexually harassing is gone, so am I.  Because I had a part in his getting fired (or so it was believed that I did), I am now history at Floyd as well.  Upper management has read these posts and it has made a positive difference EXCEPT that now they have checked the internet usage of people in that department and are systematically eliminating everybody who even visited this site.

I found another job about 2 hours after I lost this one but believe me, my dealings with this hospital are far from over after the discrimination I have experienced.

Getting fired for visiting a website? When I was there they could have fired 1/2 of the place for visiting websites.:D

I am quite sure of that.  It's another way that they can get rid of people who disagree with them within the confines of the law and policies of Floyd.  Now that I am out of that situation, I have a bit more ability to say the things I wasn't previously able to say and to make the bold moves I wasn't able to make before on behalf of my former coworkers.

I am one of those people who just can't sit aside and watch these things happen, even if it means sticking my own neck out on the line.

Do they have a policy about using the internet?

Yes, they do.  If you are granted internet access (sorry, it's been awhile since I have actually read it), you are not permitted to use to access anything that is non-work related.  Unfortunately, they used this to their advantage and thus found the only avenue they could to get me out the door.

But like I said, now that I am out, it furthers my ability to make changes.

And for everybody on here who said this thread was a waste of time, YOU WERE WRONG.  It has made a difference.  Granted, I lost my job partially due to it but I am not regretful that I posted on here whatsoever.  People post their concerns on here and then are criticized for it.  Yeah, it may not be a public safety issue, or even anything that affects the general public, but do you think you are doing any good by putting the people down who are obviously asking for help?  I knew what I was doing when I originally posted on here.  When I found that there were enough people who felt similar to me, I alerted someone in administration to check it out.  The wheels of change are moving now, ever so slowly, but nonetheless moving.  I intend to further pursue this matter.

So perhaps their "vendetta" or whatever you might wish to call it, was not because you filed a sexual harrassment claim or complained of it, but because you posted "internal issues" on a public forum for all the world to see ??  Sometimes things will bite you in the  butt.  Just my 2 cents. Regardless, if you are complaining about someone violating company policy in one area, and you are visiting/posting on any site not work related then you too have broken the policy.  Of course, I know nothing personally about any of these situations, can only go by the postings here.

Yes, you are correct.  I did violate company policy.  I am not condoning my actions by any means.  It was my mistake and I own up to it.  I did it for a greater good and am not regretful for my actions.  As it has been posted, many other people are guilty of this same thing and did not suffer the same consequences I did.  When I posted on here originally, I was looking for help, but more so I was hoping someone with clout would see it, and they did.  I am pleased with the outcome so far and I will push for further changes to be made.  There are many good employees there who are getting the shaft because of her and I can't sleep well knowing that she continues to get away with it.

I do respect you for that not many people would own up to it or take that chance. But if there are others that have been caught and not fired, with the same work record then I dang sure would not give up. Good luck

Thanks for the support.  It isn't easy as I have my own bills to pay.  I will, although, be a bit less stressed not having to worry about working under somebody like that.

Smarterthanyou - do you even work for Floyd Medical Center, I heard you worked for some copier company at FMC? I think you need to start being honest with yourself and us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS. If I were a manager and you were looking at sex sites at work I would fire you too!!

Haha!  No, but I did work AT FMC.  And if you were to actually check out the sites I was looking at that you are referring to, you would that they indeed NOT sex sites my friend.  Nice to see you could join us.

Check yourself at the door next time before you go making bold assumptions.  Obviously you know who I am and I am almost certain I know who you are.

You can get on here and trash talk me all you want, this isn't about me after all, it is about you and the dept you "run".
