I know you are speaking from a realistic standpoint and I respect that. I am currently talking to the person that was harrassed and trying to get her to go administration. I had a talk with admin today and they seemed very receptive. Hopefully this will go further than this forum and get a resolution everyone in the department will be happy with.

Without them nobody here would have what they need to do there jobs from the CEO to the EMTs. They are the heart that pumps the much needed blood. Everyone's job at the hospital is important otherwise they wouldn't have a position for that job. You speak like a true MM dept. person which is commendable, but everyone is expendable or can be replaced to an extent. The most important group of people at that or any hospital are the patients. The rest are there to provide a service to that group.

Though I agree that all departments are equally important, I think in the last few months we have seen that admin does not seem to get involved unless it becomes a pr issue. I also disagree with the 4 options quote. NOBODY should have to leave their job for such reasons as those listed, nor put up with them. It is my hope that this discussion does open eyes. If the employees does go through proper channels and get no help hopefully admin will see that they are serious.

Not saying that it all revolves around that one department. What I'm saying is they are the starting point for getting everyone the resources needed for the best patient care possible. By the way you are partially correct I was once I materials management, but that was long ago I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to pursue my education and work my way into management within Floyd. I would like to wish all of the employees good luck and hope they are rewarded with a positive outcome for all in the hospital.

This is exactly how I feel. It takes a public fiasco (i.e. EMS) to get the admin to do anything about a bad situation. All the cries of foul in MM fall on deaf ears.

Not sure you will get the "public" fiasco you are looking for here ... EMS issues were safety issues, etc. It's my opinion that this isn't and shouldn't be something of "public interest". I am just not sure this is the place to vent these"internal" issues. I am sure everyone that works "anywhere" has "issues". This thread just really makes me uncomfortable, especially "calling out" of people by name.

I also am not really comfortable with this thread... I have to admit the EMS issue was directly related to the safety of the public. While I am sympathetic with your problems, I have to say that I do not want this forum to be the place where every employee with a grip comes to try and leverage a better workplace. If the issues deal with the greater public good or affects the community then that is one thing... If a couple of people are upset at their boss and are looking to "get back at them", well then that is another.

Makes you uncomfortable??? How about the people that are involved? It may not be a public safety issue but isn't sexual harassment a crime? Isn't unfair employment practices totally unethical? Uncomfortable is coming to work everyday not knowing whats going to happen to you or if you're even going to be employed by the time you leave work at 5 because 1 certain person didn't like the way stacked boxes or something. Thanks for the discouragement. I will not posting in this section again.

sexual harassment is not a crime.......... there have been accusations that, if true, would be considered unethical by some....... I'm sure it's frustrating to those involved, especially if the accusations are true, but I'm sure that if there was evidence that the accusations were true, FMC management would have the evidence, provided by one of those now complaining (you know, like the EMS folks did with photographs)..................................just gettin' on here and claiming that someone is a bad manager or is having a liaison with an employee makes me wonder what could be the motivation????????????????? Other than embarassing the manager or shaming FMC into doing something about someone allegedly doing something for which there is no evidence.......................... The manager is not a public figure, an elected official or anything like that, so I'm not sure that you should be allowed to make accusations that could cost her her job, privately, much less publicly, without evidence (and I dont' consider the complaints of a bunch of anonymous bloggers as "evidence").............................However, on-the-record complaints could be ![]() Last edited on Tue Jul 1st, 2008 06:47 pm by romegasir |

If a crime is being committed there are places to file that grievance. I find this thread full of hatred, vengeance, and trying to one up somebody. You can continue (and the others) to vent on here but you're still going to have the same problems to face when you go in to your job.
