Those who represent  Law Enforcement in Floyd Co, Ga. are  some of the most conscientious, professional, courteous, and  efficient  people in the entire state...they take their positions seriously, and in so many cases...go above and beyond the scope and focus of their  positions. they go the extra mile, and that is what  makes the city of rome  and floyd county a great place to live and work. they have  excelled in areas  such as crime prevention, pro-active  enforcement,  detection, and investigations,...and community service.they far exceeded many expectations in  so many ways. with  timely response to incidents, and  used good judgement in settling disputes... many of  rome/floyd county's residents are satisfied with  their latest performance, and are very proud of each and every one of them... they are doing ''the lords work...whether they realize it or not....''people need to be governed...and the people will provide a government over the people....and the people shall respect that government.... but the people will oversee that government.... somewhere in the bible it was written...so people..help them to be the best they can be....support your local sheriff!...

I happen to think alot of our deputies. My brother in law is a Floyd County deputy and a helluva guy. He loves his work, loves helping the inmates and making a positive difference in their lives with the ultimate goal of helping them to not return to the jail.  I happen to know lots of deputies, all of whom I consider my friends. Many of them stop to say hello quite often. I have much respect for all of them and the job that they all do! And Tim is a great Sheriff ...

RE-ELECT TIM BURKHALTER!!!

The only law enforcement agency I have had a problem with (and that is only one officer) is a police officer with the Floyd County Police Dept. His name was *********and he came to my house one day (August 2007) when my brother was there with his daughter. Her mother came to get her and she did not want to go.  She started crying. At the time they were separated and had NO CUSTODY ARRANGEMENT set up meaning that each of them had custodial rights to her. She called the police and officer ******* came out. He got there, started talking to my brother and when he turned to face the officer, she ran up from behind and grabbed their daughter. My brother called us, we came home and when we got there my wife gave my sister in law my neice's car seat and told her she never wanted her back at our house again. Officer ******** proceeded to tell my wife that she needed to keep her mouth shut if she didn't want to go to jail. I told officer ****** and will tell him again, he, nor anyone else, is going to come on my property and tell my wife to keep her mouth shut when she was simply saying something that she had every right to say. She was not drinking, was not unruly nor disorderly. She simply stated a fact and she did not violate the law when she did so.

They did. Sorry, I didn't think about it like that. I actually write an editoral column for the RN-T and you can't use real names in there either. I guess I just forgot myself.

RE-ELECT TIM!!!

also want to compliment the staff at the court house... i was there friday w/ my sister to clear up a speeding ticket of all things .... anyway it was a medical emergency... she came to get me from a residence on pullen rd a cpl months ago ... they thought i was having a seziure... anyway,,, the staff from the S  O  were super nice... we went in ,,, talked to JUDGE BURKHALTER... got the matter resolved and left in about thirty minutes... Goes to show things are rather smooth in Floyd now... why change a good thing... just a thought... jpgreen007............
