He asked if we couldn't put the debris on the street and have the city pick it up. He still seemed open to donating the use of a rolloff dumpster so I gave him TJ's number and asked him to call and talk to TJ because he will be doing the contracting work. We are still looking at the weekend after 4th of July for the clean up crew to assemble. If I hear anything further, I will post it right away. Everyone have a great day.

Edited to mention that we are still accepting volunteer labor (clean up crew) and suggestions or information anyone might like to offer.

spice, have you called the city about this?  i know my moms house is in the county, not sure if they will pick up or not

No, I reffered him to TJ, who should know more about the situation than I do. I left a msg for TJ to let me know what transpired and have not heard anything back yet. I will begin making calls again this afternoon (have an obligation this morning), and will post any new information.

Great news everyone!  I just spoke with TJ and Mr Clark and Mr. Brooks from Calvery Baptist Church, have donated a dumpster. It is in place now and TJ would like to have a clean up crew in place at: 8:00am Saturday morning, June 28, 2008.

Anyone who can be there please post on the board or PM Teraca or me. TJ has also set up an account for donations for building supplies. The bank had him set it up in his name because to set it up as a non-profit org. requires a lot of paperwork and red tape. Rusty will not be able to withdraw funds from this account, it is stricktly for supplies for re building. So, if any of you would like to donate: Thomas Jones account, make checks payable to the Rusty Dixon Building Fund @ United Comunity Bank.

Let's get this show on the road!

TJ will be talking to Rusty again tonight and he said he will tell him that all that stuff has to be out of the house. He told me that in our conversation this morning.

I'm hoping to bring my two sons to help. I wanted to remind everyone who comes to clean, wear your oldest clothes, you know the ones that are ready for the rag bag but you knew there was a good reason to hold on to them.

I also failed to mention that the address is: 11 Robinson Avenue.

This is a call for help from those of you who are able and available. I realize that it is short notice but we are trying to stay in the time frame that TJ needs us and we need your help to get this job done.

I talked with Rusty last night and am going over there today to take him some food he said he'll eat. I asked him his age, etc. I encouraged him to start cleaning up - hope he does.

I'll get back later today or tonight (after I get back and settled with the girls) and let you know how it goes. I'm so happy things are starting to get together!!!!!! Calvary is my church!! Yea!!!!!!!!!!

I hope to come very early Saturday morning. The girls have a slumber party that was already arranged. Are we still aiming for the weekend after the Fourth? That weekend is the one I've been trying to arrange for us to be there a bit. But I can still come and bring some water or coffee or something this Saturday.

This is EXCITING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Coffee for me msla, I'm a coffee drinker. Just kidding, probably, most folks would appreciate Ice Water in this heat. Looking forward to seeing you there.

Now, the rest of you, drag out your grubbies and join us. Let's make this a team effort and see just how much we can do if we pull together.

Can't join us? If you would still like to help, donations can be made to:

Thomas Jones Account, Rusty Dixon Fund, United Community Bank.

This fund will be used only for necessary building materials, this is not a fund for anyone to withdraw from.

I don't have a wheel barrel but I do want to assure you that all help will be appreciated. If enough folks put in a little time, no one will feel like they had to do it all and being such short notice, we understand that folks do have things to do with their families. Looking forward to seeing all of you there.

Perhaps I should have said, "ya'll, you know a Southern girl knows the plural of "Ya'll " is "all Ya'll".
