That's wonderful dew. I'm so glad to have you around to help us. I know it is a comfort to Rusty to have a long time friend to explain the situation to him. Thanks

Dew,

Glad you talked to Alan.  All I ask is to keep perspective.

The dumpster has been removed, the driver would not take it because it was over full so rusty removed what he could to make driver happy. He promised me when the other one gets back he will start loading it.

Even though everyone is helping because they want to do something for someone that is hurting He is still a human!  I just know that if some people that I had never met had come in to my home and cleaned it out I would probally would have been digging threw it too.  We do not and did not know what may have something ment the most to him.  Also How mant of us could just walk in to our own burnt house and start throwing our entire life away?  It was a big task for 20 people much less just one person!  Mentally it would be hard in the most Sane of people.

I was there at the house!!  I saw Dew and Rusty share moments from their younger years.  I tell you it was sad!  I heard Dew talking about something that they had built and something else they had been to together.

Just remember that if you cut yourself or if someone does it to you it still bleeds the same and hurts the same too.  I know that the neighbors are fed up.  I have been there with a brother, but we are trying to help in a effort to give you guys a break.

Well, we've helped people in the past and it's been useless. And, we've helped and it's been fruitful. So who will know until the future plays out?

I know one thing for an absolute: God works on folks watching this. He always does!! He most definitely works on those of us working on the project. And that's enough to get out of it. AMEN

OK folks, I spoke with TJ today. He wants me to take over the Rusty Dixon Fund and handle it. I will meet him in Rome tomorrow to take care of it and as soon as I have details, I will post them.

TJ made a generous contribution to the fund and plans to leave it there.

If anyone has questions about it, you may post them or pm me. I do have a degree in accounting and 15 years experience so if no one objects to my handling the fund, I certainly will do my best to see that everything balances out. There will be no funds given directly to Rusty, the fund is for materials only. If at the end of construction there is any money left over, we can decide then what should be done with it. It could be used to get him some clothing, household stuff, or donated to a Church or Charity.

Those are just suggestions so if any of you have any thing you would like to mention, please do so.

Thanks, Spice

edited to mention that everything is still dependant upon what happens at his hearing regarding the property.

Why don't you save the money for the cost of mental health help?  Dr. bills and such.  Isn't that one of your goals here?  If there is some left over it needs to be saved for his long-term care.

Spice, I could not think of a better person to handle the account. I am honored to have you as part of this forum.

To the rest of you that have helped in any way, whether it be from kind words, monetary donations or of your time, we are all very proud of you!

Thanks JD. I don't know that I'm the best person to handle it, I just know that I want to be of help. I, and I'm sure everyone else, owe you a vote of thanks for starting a fourm where we can gather and discuss the issues and make plans to do something about them. Your support means a lot to us too.

Thanks dew. Let us know if we need to help clear out more stuff. Also, don't forget to let me know about the clothing storage. I will pick his clothes up tomorrow when I go to meet with TJ.

I think one of our biggest issues at the moment is to continue to let Rusty know that we are still working on this and he has not been abandoned. I would think that would be one of his worries when we all come in a do things to help, then we all pack up and go home and he is left to wonder what comes next.
