So if anyone knows how to get the dumpster out there quick please try. Also to get him to clean off the carport I ageed to put an older popup camper out back out of the way. The reason he is so protective of the carport is because it the coolest part of the yard to sleep in. I hope ours efforts arent lost, because  i saw the old rusty again. Ill hang in there as much as i can. dew
Thanks dew, I spoke with Tereca just a few minutes ago and she is going to try to contact someone tomorrow about removing the Dumpster. If you will, please keep me posted on what is going on on your end. Rusty did get about 5 or 6 bags of clothing sorted and baged and I dropped them off at the laundry. I will pick them up probably on Wednesday for him. Tereca said she would pick up some more of them to clean. I certainly enjoyed meeting you today and really appreciate your help. I know you were the one who was able to help put Rusty more at ease because he knows you.

then I think we probably just misunderstood each other.............because I believe we're saying the same thing......................................"don't expect the best, prepare for Rusty to do things that aren't healthy for himself"............

for example, you asked that the dumpster be removed quickly, before he can remove everything in it.................................................that's taking precautions to ensure that the work today was not futile (exactly the words I used as a warning to the helpers)..............................................................................

I am choosing the future actions, not the what ifs. nor do I want to debate on what we mean in our words on a post or try to put words in other peoples mouths. so i consider us to agree to disagree. my time will be better spent with the project. I m confidently Derek E Weeks

why waste your time posting this???????????????????????????????????????????? just to jump on anyone else who says something similar????????????????????? That's your right, don't get me wrong.........................................just doesn't make sense..................congrats to you:)

I basically say "make sure your efforts are not lost"..........while you say "I hope our efforts aren't lost because I saw the old rusty again"......but I'm the bad guy...........................not that I'm uncomfortable with that role, but I also enjoy pointing out inconsistencies in folks' arguments :)

There is nothing inconsistence about using the word hope, the only inconsistecy is you trying to disect my every word and put dought in what were doing. And put words in peoples mouth. so if this is role  you want to play than congats to you! Is far as im concern there is no argument!

I have a question about this.  Earlier in this forum, someone mentioned that Rusty wouldn't live in assisted living (projects) because he wouldn't (couldn't?) pay for utilities.  How is he going to pay for them now?  Did he not have insurance on his house?  Will he have insurance now?  Does he have a job?  I think that it is admirable that everyone wants to help someone who is in need, but the person you are trying to help has to be able to stand on his own 2 feet after this is over.

Sassygirl, there are people working on those issues. Sometimes we just have to go down a road to see where it will take us.

On a lighter note, I've showered, shampooed my hair, brushed my teeth, trimmed my nails, etc. I still feel covered in soot. I was talking with a rnw member yesterday and mentioned that we stopped in the Waffle House after leaving Rusty's and that I didn't realize until we left, that I had black soot all around my left eye (evidently, I had wiped my eye with my glove). He said he didn't realize it was soot, he thought I actually had a black eye and my glasses covered part of it up.

Just as a side note, the only black eye I ever had was from playing football (gotta love that game). I had a deal when I married that if my husband ever laid a hand on me in anger, I had a 10" cast iron skillet I fully intended to beat their brains out with when they went to sleep (everybody has to sleep sometime). It worked, they never did and I never did!

Spice, You had soot in top of soot!  LOL!  I think that we all had a streak or two on our face!  Some guys may have thought that it was war paint!

I had my first black eye about 4 weeks ago.  Got it form out Lab mix, Gus!  He head butted me on my eye socket!!!  It was black for a week then green the next.  LOL, My hubby nows shakes his fist at me, laughs and says " Don't make me get Gus ofter you!"  LOL

I guess next time, I will have to carry a mirror with me, although I do try to avoid them when ever I can. I remember my black eye really hurt and the boys all laughed at me for getting it but it didn't stop me from playing football with them.

We are dealing with a man who has some mental issues. He has had a mental evaluation and will be attending meetings but has not met with the doctor yet. It takes a lot of patience. We are waiting now to see if we will continue to help, the city may not let him keep his house so that is another issue. Just please bear with us and we will keep everyone posted as to the progress or lack of progress.
