Newsie..dont worry we are slow down here too :)  I thought your Avatar was a poor woman with arthritic deformed hands holding a piece of paper for at least a month.  Dont know why but one day I saw feet.

I am unclear as to when Garry Fricks found out his license was suspended.  Give him a break.  I don't think the truck registration is such a big deal.  It was only a few days late.  I just don't think I have enough info to judge.  Anyone running for his seat should just speak up instead of staying silent til he tests the political water.

why should we give him a break. There is no way that he didn't know his license had been suspended since 2001. He would have had to get it renewed sometime during the last seven years.  He's just sorry he got caught. He knew what he was doing when he tried to not show his license.

GIVE HIM A BREAK !!   You have got to be kidding !!!  Do you think one of us mere mortals should deserve a break if this was us?

Ahh yes worked  the Vancouver midway many years, but best money was always Portland Rose festival.

And as to giving Fricks a break, not a chance.  If it was a common folk he would be right there saying to fine them and give him a raise, so he can afford a new car for his daughters again.

thanks ponitail,....between the slurs on our southern heritage and the actual audacity of someone wanting to give the Commish a break, I just could not resist....

on a more serious note....I do plan on voting in the upcoming elections....and hopefully even with JD's teaser....we will have someone worth voting for that has the morals and intellect to not only do his/her job...but to at least drive to work doing said job...legally!!!

I once worked with a valley girl and this sounds just like her! Well, I say I worked with her... she only stayed couple months and went back to school. She was young...well much younger than me!

Give him a break? Let me ask you this, if it had been you do you think you would get a break? Ignorance of the law is no excuse. I personally believe that he knowingly was breaking the law and like they say you may get away today, but you will be caught tomorrow. Plus how can we expect someone to look out for the interest of this county and make lawful decisions for this county if he is breaking the law himself. I personally hope he gets no BREAK.

i dont know who the  candidate would be, but anyone is better than the ol' Guard that  has been roosting at the floyd county commission!. an ouster is in order... he  (fricks) is a poor role model for our kids when we are trying to tell them to  obey traffic laws, and  not speed...it saves fuel, saves tickets...and saves lives....yet our illustrious  mr. fricks  shows all young drivers that is is ok for adults like him to skirt the law, and worse...trying to  show his clout of  floyd county  politics to an officer of the law!...and up in calhoun...they really dont care who you are... if you broke the law...you gonna pay....in more ways than one.  im not on a witch  hunt for dear, sweet mr. fricks... but in the era of  scandalous  politicians..crooked  polk officers(convicted of theft)....and  past   conflicts of interest in local govt....there must be an accountability ...and fricks will be the start of cleaning house in floyd county government.....we will set the example...where he has failed miserably.....and elect culpable-capable...honest citizenry to our posts as commissioner!.accountablilty, responsibility, dependability, and capability...it all comes full circle....
