Wouldn't it be nice to have ONE Nation Wide website Forum, where every American could go to and make their voices heard.
Every city in the Untied States has a forum like this one, I wish they could all be linked to one site, so if we ever decided to send a STRONG message to Our Government.... Oil Companies .... and who ever else that thinks they own us,We could organize a America Stay at Home Day.
The only reason lobbyist voices are heard louder than ours, is the lobbyist are there in the governments face every day , our voice is in the form of an e-mail or talking to a assistant, the ones we want to talk to never hear our VOICE.

I love your idea ronron, however, we, citizens, already have the opportunity to vote for elected officials. That is a very good way to send a message to all politicians. Unfortunately, many people don't vote for a variety of reasons. I wouldn't be surprised if the same people that exercised their right to a vote wouldn't be the same to use a forum, leaving out the same Americans that also didn't go to the polls on election day.

I think if we were able to iner-act with our Government it would make politics more interesting.
Example: on the State level, all registered voters in the state of Georgia would use their social security number as their ID and a Pin number given to you by the state, for your Password.
When they come up with something to be voted on, they post it, You and I log on and cast a yea or nay vote to let them know if we like it or don't like it.
This would help the ones we elected, they would have a true poll of what the voters think.
I think if there was something like this it would encourage more people to vote and I know from being on this forum it would become habit forming, because I keep saying I'm tired of everyone arguing with each other, we are acomplishing nothing, I'm going to stop coming back, but I can't I keep coming back.

You mean like we vote for each bill in the house to signal our legislators our desire?
LOL. I'm sorry, ronron..... I'm not laughing at your idea at all, but I kind of got this vision of us "Idolizing" our political system.... i.e. just as the television show,American Idol, takes text messages to vote on a winner.... only we'd be sending poll data via a forum to our Congressmen on how to vote on specific legislation. Yep, you're right.... it would probably spice it up a little bit. As a nation, we would, of course, out of fairness, have to furnish each voter a personal computer and internet access.....
The bigger question your post presents, though......
Why is this discussion forum so addictive??????

Hell it is hard to keep up with a one region forum, could you imagine reading all the posts on just one thread of a national forum.
I think after the first five minutes and seeing 4000+ posts I would quit.
But idea is sound just well hard to keep up.

| Sounds like something similar to Topix .... which is a horrible site, in my humble opinion.
