Miley Cyrus has done a photo shoot for VF that shows her bare back.  I have been watching the news about this a she has issued an apology for the pictures.  They have said photos, but I have only seen the bare back one.

Since she does have a young fan base I can see why people are not real happy with it.  Why did she release an apology?  Her parents should have stepped in and said, "That is a little to much.  Let's not do that."

What do you think?

I have 2 girls that love Miley, and I see no issues.  This picture is a repeat of photos that have been done since the early 40's and even before then in paintings.  I thought it looked very nice and well done.  As for the other picture it is of her laying in her fathers lap and has some of her stomach showing.  Big deal, so kids cant lay in dads lap now???

I think the money hungry news ppl are trying to find some dirt on some innocent girl that is popular. If they can't find it, they'll make it up.

Our little one likes her also. I hope she continues to be a good example for kids. So many have dissapointed them.:?

It must have been a slow newsday. It was ridiculous the way the story was put out front like the most earth-shattering news. She is a young girl that has some nice photos taken, I thought tastefully done, and she is raked over the coals. There is real news out there. The "MEDIA" should stop dragging out nothing and making it something. The apology was unnecessary. She did nothing wrong.:X

In todays world where people are critical of everything, I have one question?

Would the gal in this painting be kicked off the plane.

Here's the pic that is causing all the controversy.... Notice that it isn't the one with her Dad.  Here's my take....  It is an absolutely stunning photograph, however,  it seems to be somewhat inappropriate, IMHO, to have a 15 year-old posing with a bedsheet in this fashion.  It seems to smack of sexual innuendo.  She is not my daughter, and, therefore, not my responsibility..... that being said, I wouldn't have allowed it to be published without my parental consent first.

the full picture, and like i said earlier, this is a very well done picture in a very old style that has been painted for centuries and photographed for at least 70.

It is absolutly ridiculous in my opinion that people are freaking out over this picture, but let thier kids goto the beach or pool dressed like this:

Thanks for posting the whole pic.

I don't think that parents that send their daughters to beach in a thong, are the same parents that dislike this photo.  I understand the point that you are trying to make, but I don't believe that this is as hypocritical as you want to make it sound, since it's prolly not the same people we are referring to.

I don't necessarily approve the pic.... but I can assure you that my daughter will not be wearing this bathing suit as a 15 year-old!

I could give a dozen more examples from art and photos, but i understand your point also.  The main thing is newscasters are attempting to cause a huge issue on a young lady that has been overall a very good influence on many kids.

Much better then just about any sports star I can think of, and definitely better then Britney, her sister, or any of those others.

Remember, though, early in Brittney's career, she had the reputation as the "virgin".  Whether she was or not is irrelevant....  she did at one time have a reputation as a "good girl."  Look at the mess she is in now.  Sad, very sad.

Absolutely agree on the "media hype".  This is ridiculously blown out of proportion!

difference is also Brittney never really had a good home life or parents to fight and care for her.

I don't know enough about either Miley or Brittney's parents to be able to make any sort of judgement about their parenting skills or home life.... I'll have to abstain from comment.
