The  Rome News Tribune is a great place for me to work... i enjoy the people i work with and my customers are  great... some complain  from time to time, but if i accomodate their needs, and  keep customer service  a#1 priority, then  things go much smoother. that is something all of us in the service industries need to keep in mind... it is the customer that keeps us  in business. Our Customers are our lifeblood..  We are dedicated to building  lasting relationships with them  and meeting their needs  with high quality service beyond their expectations. and go beyond that of which  is expected to  ensure  a certain level of satisfaction.  in my  section of delivery  service area im  targeting at least a 95-to 99 % rate of success, and  quality. i deliver quality..and i expect that in return... in my co-workers, and  production staff and associates so i can deliver a quality product. and i pitch in and  help ensure that .and i am rewarded for  a higher success rate.  i am a former AJC employee that  retained the same work ethics  instilled upon me  during my tenure with that organization...which should prove to be an asset to the RomeNews -Tribune.this is the new winds of change that is taking place in this  organization. the paper is not dead...not by a longshot....no news paper will be  as long as there are people who love to read the paper''  no matter which one, whether it is romenewswire, or the ''trib''...or AJC, or some other  newspaper... i still love to open upo a newspaper and  read  on a sunday morning, witrh a good cup of coffee, and a  donut... while  glancing at  the news shows on television  in my kitchen while the kids are still asleep... one of the few luxuries of my  weekend.... (the sunday paper)....you betcha'.....          rgm

When did you come over from the AJC?

We too hired a former AJC person to do our delivery. :D

The AJC must teach um right because he is the best thing that could have happened for our circulation dept.

thank you for the props!.. the  people of the ajc  are a unique breed of folks. each of the co-workers  that i came in contact with over the years  were exemplorary workers. of course there were a few that  didnt share the same vision, but there were so many that did. take care of your  job- and your job will take care of you..was pretty much the work ethic that most  shared...and when ajc came down with their decision  to close the  branch offices in both cedartown and rome...each of the  employees were compensated fully for their loss... they were given such an excellent severance package, and  at least 30 days of continued employment before full closure, that  was helpful  for  everyone to spring-board into  gainful employment elsewhere. i personally recieved 6 (six) weeks of  salary  minus  fuel allotment,taxes...to compensate...and  it was helpful for me as i used the  money working concurrent with  my new employer RomeNews-Trib... to put necessary repairs on my  delivery car to  get it in shape for another  tour of duty with  the new  job that  i was beginning. i have never been treated with such dignity, and  respect  by any employer as i have with both organizations... AJC  was  most  helpful with the job transition, and  that gave me such peace of mind.... so now i will try to do for this  local  organization what i did  for the folks at AJC ..and  improve on what i have already accomplished... and still give props to the  RomeNewsWire  as always for  providing  such a wonderful  online experience and  newspaper  that  completes the full circle of free flowing informatin in the Rome/Floyd county area, as  none other has done in the past...Rome Has  such a great media community, and that is because  you and people like you make this happen....form the  radio folks at all the radio stations to the  television media ...to the  newspaper and online experiences..... there is a world of  information outlets  available...  thanks once again . RGM

only the young and the middle aged.... the baby boomers are quite a  great percentage of our  target audience... and those who live in retirement...they arent leaving us anytime soon... we as a newspaper will do just fine for a few more years...many more years to come...the research  that is done  is fine..but my  customer base is growing slightly due to aggressive marketing on my part... and more to follow...i will be the one who sells  bottled water to king neptune... and  ice cubes to an eskimo.... that is sales...making  it happen... rgm

Assuming all of us here are on the net, and own a TV, Please explain to me once again, WHY would I want to PAY for  late information, when I'm already paying for current info. I haven't bought a paper in years. I just have no need to. Good luck selling them though.:)

Yeah what he said!:D

Funny story though. I didn't renew my subscription, by choice. I haven't gotten the paper in way over a year.

Anyway, all of a sudden I've been getting the paper again. I find it in my yard every morning. Have been for 2 mos. or so. I still have a paper box, but it's hard to call and tell them the person isn't putting it in the box, but throwing it in the yard. I mean, I'm not supposed to even be getting it. Haven't gotten it in over a year.

Must have a new delivery person? Hmmm, I must remember to call and ask them to recancel my cancellation? LOL

Nothing ugly intended, RGM. Best of luck to you.;)

Or sooner, but then they go into the obituary and we get to read about it.
