Swinging Revolution 2008 "Raising Political Awareness"
On Friday, July 4th, 2008 The Star Promos, HairStory Salon and 105 50 will be hosting a political awareness party at the Rome Civic Center on Jackson Hill called Swinging Revolution 2008, "Raising Political Awareness." Attire is late 30's- 50's. Pin-up girl, Cool Kats and Greasers welcome. You will have to dress the era to attend. There will be music, swing dancing, food, representatives from various political parties, voter's registration, cash bar, classic car show, American Red Cross and last but CERTAINLY not least we will be accepting product donations to send to our countless troops still stationed overseas. All hygiene products (deodorant, tampons, toothpaste, toothbrushes), Snacks (rice krispies, crackers), Magazines (No pornographic materials) Cd's, Books, Socks, PHONE CARDS so that our troops can call home to their families and loved ones and flavored drink mixes.
Be the change you wish to see most in this world. Use your voice. Let others know how you feel...this is an awesome opportunity. So many times...and I have been just as guilty...so many times I hear people say that they hate the way our world operates and that they don't vote because no one listens anyway. Well enough is enough. Voting is the way our system works. Talking with our chosen leaders and letting them hear your voice and then making a vote is the only way your voice can make any change in our current system. This event...Swinging Revolution 2008...is an awesome opportunity to have a great time, gain new persepective, help our troops and be the change you wish to see in this world.
You will have the opportunity to gain knowlege and raise awareness...local chapters of the republicans, democrats, libertarians will all be here available to ask any questions you may have or to voice your opinions and your concerns to...all at the same time! We as Americans have more power than what we think. Our vote does matter. We can make a difference.
I am so excited about this event....a swinging good time...a chance to gain more knowledge...a chance to learn more about how I can make a difference in my community and in my world. All the concerns I have...poverty, war, gas prices, taxation, environmental, etc...I can learn more at this one event...dance the night away...and make a difference! Excited does not even begin to describe how I feel about this event.

STOP WHINING...and do something! The time has most definitely come...

The big event is tomorrow...Oh how I have been waiting for this day to arrive. Matthew and Jonathan will be set up in the Civic Center parking lot on Jackson Hill downtown tomorrow from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. accepting donations of travel sized products, cash for phone cards and selling tickets. If you have a classic car 30-59 you can pay the $25 to have your car in the show. The prize up for grabs is a $50 gas card, a $50 Advanced Auto Parts Card and a complete line of Maguire's Car Products valued at over $175....Come on out...
