People are loosing their homes, we can't afford to put gas in our cars, the health dept is cutting services, police are cutting patrols, grocery prices are skyrocketing and people are loosing their jobs.
With all of this, I was wondering what you think has been a waste of taxpayer money here in the Coosa Valley area.
If we had not paid for/built__________ we would be in better financial shape.

The forum that was built for "big name concerts"?
City and County employees with "drive home" cars?
SPLOST money used for things that could wait?
The money we waste training police and firemen that end up leaving for more money and better benefits--PAY THE PEOPLE WHO PROTECT US!!
Local money that has to be spent on illegals, such as the health department agency that is currently overloaded and understaffed?
I'll think of more.

I had to laugh at your post Southern Rain.........................not because you're not accurate, but because the city/county fathers will read:
"remove take home cars.............."
and nothing will be done about the pay, causing more to leave and costing the city/county more money...............................................................................it's frustrating to those who want to stay in Rome/Floyd but can't..............................................Polk feasted off of Floyd County in a two year period..................................................got a feeling that Bartow might be next, Acworth will also allow folks to drive their cars home...........................

Well in defense of that one, I will say it has brought a ton of industry to the area.
Hell knowing it would increase the industry is one of the reasons I moved here, and despite what some think, north georgia is still a lot better off then other areas of the country.
But I would have to say the biggest 3 wastes are the footbridge, 3 (or is it 4 now) studies for more parking around courthouse, and the continual studies done to see if should raise pay for pub serv.
I do agree on having people stop driving take home cars, unless it is an officer, as I see county cars all the time driven by wifes and have even seen kids driving pops county car.
