His ribs and stew are really good! I do not much care for his BBQ because it is really mushy.. I prefer pulled or chopped BBQ. But for those who like that kind of BBQ, it had a good flavor.

I LOVE brunswick stew!!! Prefer to make it myself though because I've yet to find any that tasted as good as home-made... Didn't like Shane's Rib Shack's that much, not to impressed by Sonny's... I think Old Tymer was as close as i could find to the good stuff...

Was their's spicy??? I like mine more spicy than sweet.

Uncle Johns on Maple right past CVS going toward Rome has the best BBQ, Just don't order his hot, hot sauce. His regular cheese burger is enough for two, you get his full cow cheese burger,  better be feeding 4 or 5. The hot, hot sause makes me sweat.

That's the kind I like ROP. The hotter, the better. The Rib & Loin in Chattanooga has terrific BBQ and the worlds best hot sauce. Their hot sauce recipe came from the old Sportsman's BBQ in Chattanooga. I usually buy a 1/2 gallon of their sauce when we go up there.

I have been to Williams Bros. and the one Lewis Gizzard used to go to in Newnan. Was not impressed with either. Was at one of those fall things in Rome a year or two ago. You could get samples of different stuff. One was Slap Your Momma BBQ sause, took two cokes to keep me from sweating, it was only about an ounce.

I have a very old cookbook that calls for squirrel and possum in the Brunswick stew recipe. That is the one I use but I substitute Chicken, beef and pork, and sometimes venison.

I really like the brunswick stew at Duffy's Deli although I haven't tried many of the other places mentioned here.  I didn't really like Shane's brunswick stew.  It was too sweet for me but my husband loves it.

I have a friend that has a cookout every year or two, He has about a 6 foot black iron pot they build a fire under. They start the day before and mix it all up including venision. They cover it with 2 sheets of tin and sit around all night long tending the fire and other things.. When they do it right it is great. Sometimes they pay maybe to much attention to other things. Great cookouts.

LOL, let me know who that is. I might offer to help them out next time they need someone to "tend" the fire. :D

BBQ is mushy ... agreed, and very over priced.  Never had the ribs or stew.

Anyone ever eaten at Wallace BBQ on Bankhead in Austell ?? YUMMY !!
