| I read somewhere that a new sushi place is opening up next to the Firehouse Grill. Does anyone know when it will be open?

| I think it is supposed to open sometime in the next couple of months. There is also another sushi place opening on North Broad in that new shopping center where Troy's is. It is called RuSan's and there is one in Kennesaw that is very good...and cheap! I'm looking forward to having a great sushi place come to Rome so I don't have to drive all the way to Kennesaw!

That would rock if it's RuSan's! I love that place! That was my first experience with sushi and it was great and had very decent prices. Can't get any cheaper with sushi unless you wanna go bad quality at the local buffets or worse quality from the deli and kroger. Don't get me wrong... When I got a craving they have to do.. But this will be a great addition to our local eateries!

If you think sushi is gross, you have to try a California roll. It usually has avocado, cucumber, cooked crab, rice, and sometimes carrots and sesame seeds. Put a little wasabi into some soy sauce, dunk each piece in, and eat. Yummy!
It is a good introduction for people who say "I don't like sushi!".
I love these and spicy tuna rolls.

The Rusan's in Kennesaw is somewhat OK. The best Rusan's is located on Windy Hill in Smyrna. The ones located in Buckhead and Midtown Atlanta (but both on Piedmont, LOL) are very good as well, but a little small. Of course, living in Rome for too long now, I've noticed that many Romans don't venture out beyond the Floyd County line, so you'll probably never try one. That's off topic though. So anyway, when I found out that Rusan's is actually coming to Rome, my wife and I thought we had died and gone to Heaven. Blue Fin is very, very good as well, but you cannot beat the quality/price of Rusan's. I really hope that those of you who are on this little blog posting all of your ewwww's and grosses and so forth will actually give it a try. In addition to sushi, they have a full seafood menu (I'm sorry and not to hurt your feelings, but Red Lobster, and Captain D's are not considered seafood). I hope that the closed-minded mentality of this city does not detract from Rusan's and Blue Fin having a successful business venture here. Rome is in great need of culture and a move into the 21st century. Maybe instead of bashing sushi, you should give it a try. Its healthy and God knows Romans need as much help as possible with this. And, it just may introduce a little bit of culture into your lives. Give it a shot, you may just surprise yourselves.
