Now that's funny. ponitail calling lindale the woods. You apparently do not know what constitutes a thriving metropolis. Rome is a town, not a city. If you bundled all of rome, lindale, shannon, cave spring, and heck I'll even add calhoun and cedartown and all points in between, you still wouldn't be able to put together a decent sized city.
Is this the Twilight Zone? LOL
Wait a minute, wait just a pea pickin' minute! Cave Spring is a city. They and Rome are the only two cities in Floyd County. We may not have the size, but we do have the heart! You're right Spice, I'm just used to a city being a city. New York, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Chicago, Los Angeles, Dallas, and on and on....LOL Guess it's all a matter of perspective.

I enjoy the city of New York, I liked San Diago and Austin. But 35 years in Atlanta, taught me a respect for Cave Spring. I love the lack of trafic jams here.
And we really do have some great places to eat here.

Just a side note, when we first bought our property here, my youngest son was not doing as well in school as he should have been doing. We told him we were going to enroll him in the "Armuchie Military Academy" (sound pretty good doesn't it?). He went to his football coach and asked him to intervene. The coach who is still a good friend, said, "No, I need to know more about this academy, I think my son needs to be enrolled there too." It was a long time before we told them any different and both boys brought their grades up.
Just checked my spelling and the recomended replacement for Armuchie was armchair.

Good Lord, how many times do I have to explain this...? The u is a short u, sounds like "UH". The southern drawl makes it sound like an R when it really is not.
Sounds like R-muh-chee
AND if you research it, you will probably find that it was originally pronounced R-moo-chee, with "oo" sounding u. I'm not sure how it came to be the other way.

OK... you are right! I live in Lindale.. and know of the place you are speaking..guess I should have said .. Jefferson's is not some dive in the hills of Kentucky! And I will say, a lot of places is much better than Jefferson's. Even small places like the one in Lindale is much better! I stand corrected!
