That has been, to me, one of the most terrible things about the meida coverage of this story.
Generally, when any business shuts down, especially under conditions like this, the newspaper reports how many people hvae lost their jobs. The better ones even try to talk to some of those people, get their feelings on the matter and future plans. I don't think anyone has done this.
But then, I think I've read all of the News-Tribune's stories on the Hooters eviction, and I can't recall any comments from Hooters corporate, not even a "no comment." Again, that seems journalism 101 to me that you'd at least try to talk to the company about what happened. I wonder if Applebee's or the Olive Garden were evicted in a similar manner if they'd cover it the same way.

I think that the reason that it has not go tthe media coverage that another resturant would have or has gotten in the past is that they knew this was going to happen if the owners did not pay the rent there. THey had already been to court.
Not that the people who worked there should have received compensation. Do we know if the full timers did or not. I know that the part timers would not get unemployment. Does anyone know if any of the ladies has had problems getting another job.
edit b/c I missed it up!

It has been a couple of months since Hooters was evicted.
Anyone know what's going in its old site on Hicks Drive?
What about the site it was going to move into out at the stadium? Any word on what's going in there?

I can't imagine any thing going in the site by the stadium, but a Hooter's. It already looks like a Hooter's building. They would probably have to rebuild it.

Yeah, it looks more like a Hooters than the old place did.
Aren't there some Hooters knockoffs out there? Maybe the owner could get one of them to open a franchise there.
It seems like an ideal location for a sports bar type business. I can't see it remaining vacant for long.
The Hooters owners (and whatever happened to them?) must be kicking themselves for letting that slip out of their hands.

Looks like the developer has given up hope.

| I take it, then, that the owner of the stadium site never could work out anything with Hooters. What happened to the two guys that were running Hooters when it was evicted? Are they even still in town?

I think they just took their "Hooter's" and left.
