Sorry most of you can't find empathy for folks that are going to be out of work even if it is just for a few weeks.  I know someone that worked at Carinos.  He went to visit family over christmas holidays and when he got back his job was gone.  It took him quiet a while to find a job because there are just so many people out there needing jobs.  So don't assume that they just can just go find another job so easily

wait staff love me..........................as does their wallets/purses.......

unless they are complete morons who spend their time chatting on the cellphone, brining me the wrong food (yeah, I know it's the cook, but the waitress should be able to tell the difference between chicken fingers and hot wings on the trip to my table)..............................and there seem to be a few in rome...........sorry if that bursts your bubble

Every restaurant in Rome will hire an experienced waitress immediately................

I was not making fun of the ppl who are out of work either. This quote above was said when it was announced that the hooters at the stadium was being built. I also know what it like to have been laid off from a job that came about with no warning. One day we are working along and that next day we were told that in we are out of business.

I for one emailed Hooters corporate to inform them I doubt I will go near a Hooters as long as Bowles & Anderson have any association.  I consider them crooks.

Waterhead, I respect these hard workers, heck I dated one and my wife did it for awhile.  My wife always accuses me of over tipping. I even tip the drive through people, they typically work hard for their money.........not always east Rome Krystal.

Rgs, I thought about you this morning and had to laugh.

This has nothing to do with Hooter's, but McDonald's in Armuchee.

Went through the drive-thru with our little one and ordered food. Got to the window where you pick up your order (after giving the other window your card) and she hands me the food. She was very friendly and the food was ok.

What wasn't okay, was once AGAIN the receipt wasn't in the bag. I sat there a couple of mins. because she had walked off. She comes to the window all perplexed and asks what I need.

I told her my receipt, as I had used my card. She looks in the garbage and then at her machine. She said (exact words)"Oh, I didn't give you a receipt because I ran out of machine tape and I have no idea how to put tape in it".

Luckily, the manager overheard her and put tape in the machine and gave me my receipt and apologized.

They need to teach How To Put Tape In a Machine 101 for these ppl they hire! :P

ROFLMAO so true

I think of the amount of money I would count in an hour in the casino's out west, and just about die laughing watching these kids now freak out trying to count out change for a dollar.

So what's the deal? Why isn't Hooters paying its rent? Are there other bills they haven't paid? Hoooters has been around in Rome a long time. Why is this happening now? Is this part of a larger problem affecting restaurants in Rome? Or is is part of a general problem for Hooters? Or is it just the management this restaurant has had for the past few years and/or the current management?

What's happening to all the cooks and waitresses at Hooters? How many people are going to be left unemployed by this? How do they feel about this?

What happens to the place out at the stadium? The owner says he still plans to open it as a Hooters. When? The owner of the old Hooters says he can't open a hooters there. What does the corporation say?

From what I can fathom looking back at stories here is what I believe.

August 2007 rumors start about Hooters looking for new site.

September they stop paying rent claiming some deal that Ledbetter properties is unaware of (or so they say).

March 2008 almost evicted, but reached deal agreeing to pay all money due.

May Evicted as still never paid a dime, thinkin they are smug and will just open somewhere else without having to pay.

I personally email Hooter's corp to let them know if the 2 thieves have anything to do with a hooter's in Rome, I will never go there.
