Attached is my letter to the editor of the Summerville News along with a photo - May 5, 2008 Letter to the Editor This past Sunday night I stopped at a local fast food chain that serves baked potatoes and ordered both my husband and I one. When we sat down to eat dinner I opened my lid on the baked potato to find 15 baked roaches covering my baked potato. As you might imagine my first reaction was I can't believe this followed next by the nausea in my stomach. I went back to the restaurant to show them what had happened and her response was sorry that happened. "They have been coming in on the truck that way" Potatoes don't arrive with baked roaches covering them. These were no small roaches either. They were more like queen roaches. All the manager offered was a refund for my $1.00 spent for the potato. What about the rest of our food that we trashed after finding the roaches? The last health inspection showed a 92 score. Obviously it needs checked a lot closer at this local fast food restaurant. Needless to say we will not ever eat at this nasty restaurant again. so they didn't charge for the extra protein? its a wonder. I never have liked wendy's nor their service at any location.

They say they come off the truck wrapped in foil, so I guess they couldn't see it when they baked it ? So, I'll play devil's advocate here ... how could that many roaches get inside the foil ?

Well..I just marked Wendy's off my list! Personally I don't believe they came off the truck like that. And if they did, why haven't more people complained? And I think it is terrible that they just offered you $1.00 back. The lady at McDonalds who got burned with hot coffee got a million dollars. You should get a whole bunch. Maybe they could pay you based on the number of roaches in your baked potato.

I really wish the photo was clearer because the black areas could be interpreted to be sprouts that turned black after being wrapped in foil . . . .
