My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of this child no matter where the child is from. We were leaving the game tonight and witnessed all of the rescue efforts. I will be thinking of all the people who will be affected by this tragedy as I put my own children to bed.  May God bring you all comfort in this tragic time.

He had to be in my sons grade but I don't recognize the name.  Anyone know him?  I went to school with several Ashleys I hope it was not one of them.  God please be with this family.  This is terrible.

I asked my son and he said he does go to school with a Skyler Ashley but he is on a different team.  My boy is 9 and in 4TH grade at Pepperell.  He believes that he came from McHenry or Midway.

I am praying it's not him, but I teach at West End. We have a Skyler Ashley in the 3rd grade. His mom (and me) graduated from Pepperell, so it wouldn't be a far reach to say he attended the Pepperell game. I haven't heard from any of the West End family, but no matter what, prayers are lifted up today.

I'm not about to say a cause for this because I have no idea what happened but as I sat on the bypass last night looking down on that scene I couldn't help but notice how dark it is there.  There is a ton of construction there and I don't know maybe some street lights would help.  There was also a rear end collision at the only other exit to the school so traffic was a nightmare.  Maybe they should rethink how they get everyone out of there after a game.  It's just a confusing area especially at night with construction cones and signs flashing at you while driving.  As I said I'm not blaming this on anyone because I didn't see it happening I just hope they can learn from last night and do better next week when they host Coosa.

I thought the exact same thing last night as I tried to leave the game it was chaotic, not enough lighting and very confusing with all of the construction that was going on.

From what I have learned the child was a city school student.  Does anyone know who the family is.  He was there with family from Pepperell Schools.

I have now heard from some West End folks, and our principal has confirmed that it was indeed our Skyler. Please keep this family in your prayers as well as our West End family as I'm sure we will have a long day come Monday!

I am so sorry, I know this will be a particularly difficult time, not only for his family but for friends, students, and teachers who knew him. It is such a tragic end to what should have been an exciting family outing. My prayers will be for all concerned.

Thanks for the prayers, everyone! There are a few on here who love to stir up trouble about my dear West End family, but boy, have we ever pulled together today. Many of us have called and shared with each other, as well as making sure we take care of the precious family. They will have hot meals today and tomorrow at very least. We will be strong, and we will be ready and waiting with open arms when our precious little ones come to us Monday morning! Keep up the prayers, readers.

What can parents do?  I don't know them myself but they are west end family.  tell us what we can do.  All I can think about is this could have been my girls and what if.  I will pray but I feel like I need to do something, too.
