She was in the military, mayor of a large city, governor of Alaska, lifelong member of NRA, stopped the building of the bridge to nowhere (does that sound familiar to anyone in Rome, GA?), was a journalist before entering politics. She is also considered a maverick which means she will have the guts to stand up to decisions that she feels are wrong for the country. As for experience, I remember many who said John Fitzgerald Kennedy was too young, he was Catholic and in stead of "In God We Trust" the motto would be changed to "In The Pope We Hope". They said the Church would be running the country. Unless I'm mistaken, that did not happen. If the Democrats are going to rattle skeletons, they'd better look deeper in Biden's closet.

Well, I will admit that at first I was not thrilled with his choice. I have researched info on her and read lots, and I am happy with his choice now. Being Pro Life, Gun rights, and pretty conservative, she fills in some gaps that Mc Cain had.

A recent post of mine was dissected but no one ever mentioned that I did insert that both parties will be doing research. Research is all that it will take on both accounts (or partys) to gather the info necessary to allow one to vote in an educated manner. Obviously i am slanted toward McCain/Palin,but then again I have done the necessary research to differentiate between that which I can stomach and that which I can not concerning the two selections that we actually have, not discounting Mr.Bob Barr, but realizing the overall consequences our country will be facing if we go that one route. The Hussaein obamba route. I am glad to read that the gaps were filled-McCain has plenty, but they were filled by your research and desire to learn the truth. Whomever gets your vote will have earned it. Can you tell that I am working on the length of my diatribes? Last edited on Mon Sep 1st, 2008 02:32 am by treelimb |

I am VERY excited to see John McCain choose someone who cares more about the sanctity of life than the polar bears in Alaska which prevent us from drilling our own oil. From either candidate, I have heard VERY little about their morals and values, which for me is want I want to know most about. The war in Iraq, although not comfortable or likeable, is necessary and headed in the right direction. The "bad economy" is not bad at all, simply WAY to many Americans living well beyond their means and blaming it on the economy. For me, McCain was the lesser of two evils, but my confidence in him just increased by leaps and bounds. And for those calling Palin inexperienced, what do you call a mere 143 working days in the Senate and heading a comitteee that NEVER met? BARACK OBAMA! Who's inexperienced??

This is what I think is funny. All the Obama supporters are saying that McCain cannot use the experience debate any more because of Pilan. Why is that? How can you compare Pilan and Obama? I am itching to finish my thoughts on this but need an Obama supporter to start the itch.

I think that this is a perfectly good reason to vote for McCain. Attachment: Sarah-Palin-Vogue.jpg (Downloaded 63 times)

Spice: I don't think she was ever in the military... but her son is, and he is scheduled to go to Iraq from what I understand. Also, while she was a mayor, it wasn't of what many would consider a large city... it was Wasilla, AK and its population is less than 10,000. And concerning the Bridge to Nowhere... guess what... she actually supported it during her gubernatorial run. You're right, WHW, she was never in the military. But she was in a beauty pageant! Those things can get pretty fierce. Happy birthday, by the way!

WHW, you may be right about the military, I haven't yet located the article that said she had served in the military but if I find it again, I will post it. As for the Bridge, the former Govenor had approved it at approximatly $223 mil. and Pilan approved it in her campaign addresses, when she took the position as Govenor, the price for the bridge had escalated to over $400 mil. If I were making a large purchase and found that the price of the item had doulbled, I would back out too.

Instead she dropped this bridge idea and STILL kept the money... just had it earmarked differently. So in essence she still kept my money for what???? She divvied it up among other state projects.

State officials said last year they were going ahead with the $25 million road because the money would otherwise have to be returned to the federal government.
