That's true Wild Woman, especially considering she has been in Vogue and that Alaska has bumper stickers that say "Coldest State, Hottest Governor"......

By the way, I copied just a bit of the full article about an investigation into Palin that is in progress ( http://www.cnbc.com/id/26456468/for/cnbc )

"Palin's clean-hands reputation has come into question with an investigation recently launched by a legislative panel into whether she dismissed Alaska's public safety commissioner because he would not fire her former brother-in-law as a state trooper. Trooper Mike Wooten went through a messy divorce from Palin's sister.

The governor denied orchestrating the dozens of telephone calls made by her husband and members of her administration to Wooten's bosses. She says she welcomes the investigation: "Hold me accountable.""

Allow me to alienate a few of you right quick, please?

Honest to God; it is apparent that Hillary's bid for the white house was all about her, not the party, nor the country.

Notice neither she nor Bill were there last night? It's all about her, not the country, not the party.

Trust her to do everything in her power behind the scene to try to bring O'Bama (he's Irish, right?) down so she can go against the Republicans again in 2012. And the sad thing is, she'd do this knowing that her followers would still vote for her.

"Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for Hillary!!!"
-this message brought to you by the Hillary 2012 campain(in the arse)

You're wrong....Hillary was there last night for Obama's speech.  The cameras just didn't show her during the speech because she didn't want to be in the spotlight...It was Obama's night.  So....with that little bit of info out of the way, I believe Hillary really cares and I don't think it's all about her.  Her speech in support of Obama seemed very genuine to me but even if it was about her to herself, it wasn't about her with the majority of her supporters and they're not going to be fooled into voting for McCain just because a woman is on the ticket (again, a woman that is the oposite of Hillary or any other Democrat).

Could the reason be that, she (Pilan), is the opposite of Hillary or any other Democrat be because she is not Hillary and not a Democrat? Just curious:D

Yes, that is exactly the reason she is the opposite & that's my point.  McCain picked her trying to get women, especially Hillary's supporters, to vote for him and that's not going to work.  If you believed in Hillary and where she stood on the issues and her plans for America, you wouldn't vote the polar opposite just because she is a woman.

There's my loophole then. I never believed in Hillary and wasn't going to vote for her because she was a woman either. :D

My thoughts on Pilan being McCain's running mate is a whole different matter.

I was blindsited. Certainly didn't see this one coming!!! I thought M.R. was a shoe-in for the rep VP. This will close all the mouths of the people who ask...is Obama really ready to run this country? I mean, McCain is pretty old!!! If his body doesn't go, his mind might! I can't say anything good or bad about his choice because I know nothing about her. I've got to educate myself on this one I reckon.

I think that Pilan is a good politician, but this was a major miscalcuation.  He's not going to get many Hillary votes off of this:  those two are polar opposites.  I don't think there are many women out there that just votes for a person because of thier gender.

I feel sorry for Pilan because I think she's a good, honest politician that is being used in a transparent attempt to grab Hillary supporters.

I'm going to have to pay more attention to what Wild H Woman has to say...I once again have to say she is right on in her evaluation of McCain's selection and why it was who it was.  I was a devoted Hillery backer.  I hated to see her lose to Obama, but like you said.  Did I vote for Hillery because she was a woman, NOT, I voted because of what her platform stood for.  And when you really get down to the nitty gritty there is very little difference between her polices/programs than what Obama wants to enact.

McCain's choice was made for a simple reason, he has been after the Hillery backers ever since she lost out.  He knows that's his best chance to win is to get her votes.  I don't see it happening, not after that beautiful speech by not only her but with Bill sealing the deal.  I look at McCain's choice as one of desperation after he sat back and watched the Demo's at the convention unite and start to roar forward.  Besides, McCain will not be able to match Obama's grass roots efforts.  They have that part down pat.

Needlestick:  Stick around... sooner or later I'll say something that you will completely disagree with, but for now, I say let's enjoy the commonality.

*******************************

Something slightly off topic, but:

Gustav is now predicted to be at least a Cat 3, maybe higher, before landfall early next week on the Gulf Coast.  This is surely going to detract some interest away from the Republican Convention.  While McCain really shook things up with his VP pick yesterday and reenergized his campaign, it appears that Hurricane Gustav will be stealing the spotlight away from him yet again.

Looks like I'll have to flip back and forth between CSPAN and The Weather Channel to stay current with both stories.

From what has been said so far on this thread I'd say there are many who are in for a big surprise from Sarah Palin. The experience argument won't last for long.
