Hispanic male from Polk County was driving on the wrong side of US 27 at about 80mph... Poor guy driving the Bronco was coming off the on ramp and did not have a chance. He was hit in the curve, probably only saw it at the last minute.

White Civic smelled of weed according to one of the witnesses that saw the accident.

Excellant coverage and pictures. Sounds as though the man in the Bronco had no time to react. I hope he will recover quickly. The man who caused the wreck is the kind of person that makes me want to quit driving.

This was terrible.  Luckily the bronco driver did not appear to have life threatening injuries.  My aunt's sister-in-law died 10 or so years ago on Hwy. 27 South when this same type of incident occured.  Some terrible things could have really happened with this driver.

Just read in RN-T where the Driver of the Bronco had his right ankle broke in the wreck.

I feel for him.;)

Frank Carter, 50, of an Old River Rd. Address.

Heard today from his family that the Bronco was actually someone else's car that he had been working on and was on his way to return it.

Some idiot put it in the "Music" section and it has since been moved to the "News" section.
