O.C.G.A. 15-12-60. I served on the Grand Jury several years ago and was shocked at some of the ignorant people who served with me. If you are on the voting rolls, you can serve on the grand jury. An example is a prominant business man who did not want to convict a man of rape because of 2 reasons: 1) The woman was out late at a club and "good" women didn't do that and 2) She was dressed "like a slut" so even though she repeatedly said NO, she probably wanted it. I'm not kidding - that is what he said in front of the entire jury. I was shocked and I made a promise that I would never set foot in his store. When I see him now and his "God loves you" on his business sign, it makes me sick.

It appears he went through the Family Violence Treatment Program through the DA's Office. The newspaper said he pled guilty to it in 2004, but had no documents posted. I think if you have charges pending, and agree to go through their program, they eventually drop the charges if you don't have any further offenses for a certain amount of time, but I am not 100 percent certain that is how it works. It was in the Revocation Order signed by Judge Walther, that he was to enter that program, but it doesn't say why.
