| There is a discussion going on under "News" "What the Frick?" I just read the RNT report and it states that Fricks' wife had to show proof that he had insurance to get a bond for him so he had insurance but evidently didn't carry proof with him. He claims that he knew something was wrong with his licence (6 years?) but had procrastinated about fixing it.

There was little competition for the RNT back then. Also, his PI cousin would probably have taken care of it (Horton) but he's dead now. Pretty sad that this is what we have to "take care" of our county.
Why is it that if it is someone that is running for Tax commissioner was posted all over the front page, but a county commissioner only make the hidden pages? could it be who you know... If it was a police officer they would make the front page for weeks on end........but not poor pitful me (fricks)......................... Does the Floyd County Commissioner need a raise so he can afford tags and insurance or is he in this country illegally?
If my statement sounds a bit crass, I intended it to be. I have been writing, e-mailing and calling our Georgia representatives, including our Governor, for almost 5 years to try to get harsher laws passed against people driving with no license or insurance. There are many illegal immigrants who fit this description but this man is not only a citizen of this country and this state but he holds an office in this county. His license has been suspended for at least 6 years, I don't believe he could say he just forgot to take care of it and it's rare to find anyone who drives with no insurance who does not know they have no insurance.
Ignorance of the law in his case certainly is no excuse. It seems that a lot of the people who hold an office think it gives them a free pass so that they are no longer required to follow the same laws as we ordinary people. I plan to run for dog catcher next year, do I have your vote?
Edited to correct my spelling when I'm angry!
AMEN!

I'd get pulled over right outside my driveway.....I'm telling ya....they would put me UNDER the jail, and I have NEVER had any sort of tickets, etc... but they would... let me procrastinate and HELL would break loose.... I'd have to call on ole' RED to get me out(of jail) cause, my mother is always too busy bailing out my brother. Thats what we get for being the responsible ones.

| Should he have not had to renew his license twice in six years? There is no way this person did not know he was breaking the law.

It evidently pays enough to be willing to break the law to get paid.
The County paid for an unlicensed/suspended driver to travel unlawfully on county and state roads in an unregistered, uninsured vehicle to conduct county buisness.
Now I dont know about you all but I see that as a problem. They may not call it a conflict, Id call it "parties to a crime". Not only was he breaking the law he was getting paid to break the law. He was getting paid with Floyd County tax dollars. This was approved by the County Commission. I am guessing they probally didnt want us to know this. Dont give us the excuse that he didnt know about the problem , There is no way he couldnt have known. Like I said earlier, if he didnt know, why didnt he give his license to the officer when asked to produce it, instead he gave his FLOYD COUNTY COMMISSION ID CARD,thus representing himself as a Commissioner of Floyd County. When he gave it to the officer it made it county buisness and the taxpayers buisness. Im assuming he was looking for "COUNTY COMMISSIONER IMMUNITY". Then he got a surprise. His ID didnt mean squat in Calhoun....... Id would paid have seen that.

1- Are you talking about the pay from the county or the other hidden pay?
2-Regions Bank, Turner Mccall @ Riverbend.

Thanks for the info. I was speaking of actual monthly pay they get that's on the books . I have no knowledge of hidden pay. But if I did, I guess it wouldn't be so hidden would it
