Like I said, "What the Frick?" I've not seen anything on the Rome News-(Tribune) website or paper about this. Why JD?
Good job once again.

1) We are filing an open request to see why his liscense were originally suspended
2) If he had ever been served for the suspension
3) To find out if he does or has ever driven a county vehicle since 2001
4) We are requesting a copy of the 911 audio from the traffic stop
5) we are requesting a copy of the officers dashboard video

No special treatment here... we just want the entire story.

Garry Fricks..............................if he drives every day, like most of us, that's about 3000 misdemeanors (at least, not including insurance and tag violations) that he has committed......................................................about 700 of which would still be within the statute of limitations..................................

and then to write off 8 years of misdemeanors with an excuse like "Oh, I'm just a procrastinator"...............

and this is one of the guys that law enforcement has to beg for a raise.............................................good luck

For a license to be suspended, you would have to have a lot of offenses to make your points pile up, or several DUIs, wouldn't you?  Would an unpaid former ticket cause your license to be suspended?  Would driving without insurance cause a suspension?  RomeGaSir, where are you?  We need answers!

I think you and RGS posted at the same time. I am looking into what caused the suspension. At this point, I am not sure what caused the initial suspension.

The RNT said "According to the Calhoun police report, Fricks said he knew he needed to get his license renewed and fixed."

I posted the police report, you can look for yourself...I do not see that statement anywhere in it.

Fricks said in the RNT story... “That’s the part I don’t understand,” he said. “I never received any kind of notice (of a suspended license since 2001).”

I am trying to confirm something from Florida about this. Not sure yet what it will show.

The RNT article said Fricks was pulled over after he appeared to be speeding... What they did not mention was that it went on to say that he was clocked by radar at 50mph in a 35mph... :?

Come on RNT.. lay it out there and stop playing favorites!

If he showed them an ID Card, instead of a license, what happened to the actual hard copy of his (suspended) license?  If my license were suspended without my knowledge, I would keep it and drive on it, and renew it before the expiration date.  Did they issue 10 year licenses in 2001?

He had it with him. The police report stated that the officer spotted the liscense in Fricks wallet and requested it.

Probably not put in the paper, because he may have connections there..... Just a guess though. Maybe he can get captain caddy to drive him

RNT just placed this on thier site under recent headlines... that is where they put PSA's and not that important news... If they were not trying to hide it, it would have been under breaking news... If you ask me, I think a County commissioner who has been violating the law for 7 years is a pretty good top story and should not be buried...

Who wants to bet that this does not make the front page in the paper tomorrow?
