RNT's a joke..........................come on Jerry, that's an old Story :D

Poor Garry Fricks..............first his license are suspended without his knowing it, for reasons that he doesn't know...........................................then his tag is swapped to a truck that he thought he didn't need a tag for because it had been broken........................then there is no insurance on the truck.......................such bad luck

He never recieved notice of the suspension, but he was aware of it being suspended.  How did he find out?  He knew not to give the license to the Officer when he was pulled over...

Guess nobody notified him his tag was illegal, either.  Somebody changed out the plate, or sticker, without his knowledge---happens to everybody, right?

The addy on the license is a place he lived for six months.  Is there no requirement to change your license info if you change addresses?  If I got a ten-year license and moved three times, could I keep the original license with the old address?  If you get married and change your name you have to get a license change.  Does that not apply to addresses?

(*Just checked the site.  You are required to notify them of an address change within 60 days of moving.)

It's one of those things that comes on the edge of pillows that gets you arrested if you remove it.

s'probably too late...........................he'll have to 1) step down (that requires some sense of right and wrong) or 2) be recalled..................

fact of the matter is, nothing will happen, and he will continue as commissioner

The biggest thing that upsets me about the whole deal is that he attempted to use his position as a Floyd County Commissioner to influense the Officer not to give him a ticket.  He had no business flashing his county I.D..  Period!!  It is a slap to the citizens that he is supposed to be representing.

Hmmmm.... My husband had his suspended for non payment of a ticket. But a Floyd County Offical??? Come on now, this is yet another black eye for Floyd County. And since 2001 Fricks has been driving with no license or insurance. And no one knew??? Sounds like a cver up to me!  Or it could be a mix up of some sort. Either way, it sucks to be him.

Jerry I really hope you dig into this story. I think there is a lot here. For your amusement, here are some other points to ponder. On a generic Floyd County employment application, does it say anything about a driver's license is required. I know Fricks was elected and not employed, but he should be held to the same standard as his employees that he governs. If they don't have a license or insurance, they get canned. Likewise, Fricks needs to be canned.

Georgia Open Records gives officials three business days to hand over the records you request. Hold them to it. You are entitled to search the police and floyd county's database of incident reports. Some nugget of information should be in there to say what caused his license to be suspended.

Also, here  is another possible gem, check Fricks expense records when he goes to those ACCG meetings in Savannah. See if they give him a credit card. Ask for an itemized billing of items he might have put on his hotel room bill. Check to see if he was reimbursed for driving his personal car or if he took a Floyd County car.

Keep up the good job Jerry.
