whoa, wait a minute before you get that started... former City Commissioner and furniture store owner Bill Fricks IS NOT Garry's dad, even though he would love for you to think that.... they are only COUSINS.  Garry grew up on Watson St. in West Rome, for the record.

Oh come on . . . Fricks procrastinated. Everybody has. By the way, don't blame him for procrastinating on getting Floyd County's fleet insurance renewed...or procrastinating on giving officers a pay raise......or procrastinating about approving the employee health insurance premiums.......

But I bet he won't procrastinate about getting his pay check or taking advantage of govt. perks.

Did you see the statement Fricks just released today? How many holes can you poke through that BS? I cannot believe some of the statements these people made.

Said he wanted to stay on as commissioner......Why don't he take his first steps of procrastination recovery and resign today?

RNT quoted Fricks, ""I made a terrible mistake. I procrastinated on some things that were small and evolved into something larger,"

Again. . .What the Frick? "Small." Come on.

RNT reports, "The board of commissioners acknowledges the arrest and has instructed the county clerk and county attorney to review commission policy to determine if any conflict might apply in this case," the release stated.
County Attorney Tommy Manning said that has been done and there are no conflicts.

Sounds like everything is orchestrated. Attorney Manning, do you want to tell me and the rest of Floyd County that all avenues have been explored?
Romenewswire just brought it to our attention yesterday.

Fricks took an oath to uphold state and federal laws. He failed. It might not be Floyd County commission policy, but it's an oath to the voters that he broke.
Resign.

One screw up is one thing,  but how does he explain owning  a vehicle for,  what was it 8 months and NOT HAVING insurance on it?  Not calling the tag office and switching that out?  I mean,, its one thing to forget or as he puts "procrastinate" but 7 years about the license?  I mean....good grief......,,

Do you think for a minute that if average Joe, with no ties to a elected position got pulled over, even in their own county, they would not though the book (so to speak).. We would be on the front page under police beat of the RNT? or under the local happenings.... why is it that only RNW and Coosa Valley News are the only ones reporting it?  I know it was said it was on another page in the RNT, but the community needs to see this.

Garry's parents names are Betty (deceased) and Harry Fricks. Bill is not his father.

Garry's father did own Fricks Bros. Furniture Shop on North Broad Street for many years and possibly partnered with Bill, that I do not know.

On another note, would Garry not have had to renew his license within the past 7 years and if so, would he not have found out then that his license were suspended? Can't imagine why the county doesn't require proof that an employee is actually licensed and insured before they hand over a county vehicle......

Interesting how Garry formally apologized to the county commission but has said nothing "formally" to the public that elected him??????

*edited to correct the word "formally"

"Fricks Brothers" on North Broad is very different from "Fricks Furniture" in downtown on Broad Street.

Do you mean "formally"?  Or did he apologize for something else that happened in the past?
