From todays Summerville News...the Town of Trion holds their high school graduation, and when the students open their diplomas what do they find? A political advertisement from one of the candidates for County Commissioner.
And oh, by the way, he even managed to spell "candidate" wrong in the ad!
Here's the best part, the School Superintendent, apologized...no idea how it happened...but thats it! It appears that no one is going to be held accountable, because the School Superintendent doesn't want to know who did this, or else he doesn't want the public to know who was handling the schools records.

I'm not sure why I didn't include that, the SN did say that it was Joe Reed who did this.
This whole fiasco just goes to show why he isn't smart enough to be elected.
But then again...this is Chattooga County...so anything is possible.

Lets also not forget that JR was 1 of the only 2 candidates that didn't know Chattooga Counties unemployment rate when they were interviewed by the SV News.
The other one who didn't know...the current commissioner!
You read the interview here. http://thesummervillenews.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=719&Itemid=2

Joe misspelled the word, “candidate.” Wow. But I tell you this, coming from the Chattooga and Trion education systems that’s no surprise. Perhaps the winner for county commissioner should be the person to spell the most 3rd grade words correctly.

Well, thats a pretty broad stroke to paint them all with.
Granted, our current commissioner has been a total failure, but as someone told me the other day, he has done exactly what he said he would do, which is to put the entire county in debt to make sure that he can get water to his property. It'll be interesting to see what happens when it finally gets there, but my bet is that it will involve some property improvement and development, which the taxpayers are funding, but which will only benefit him.
For those who don't know about him, Joe Reed was over the counties maintenance department for a number of years. There isn't really any way to describe how poorly the county maintenance department functioned under Joe Reed, but, as is typical for a county which only has one official, if the commissioner likes you, you can get away with being an idiot and keep your job. Unfortunately for Joe, people in this county were fed up with Parkers management and he got himself voted out, and as soon as he was gone Joe Reed was put on the street. You know this story goes, he has been looking for payback ever since. Joe Reed is probably the single most unqualified person running for commissioner, and his latest stunt shows that he either doesn't have the character, or the common sense to be in charge.
The other three candidates, Jason Winters, Blake Jones and Charles Black all appear to be infinitely more qualified than what we already have. I'd be willing to bet that any of them could beat MD or JR in a spelling match!
It looks like we'll get to learn more about them in a couple of weeks, they are supposed to be having a debate in a couple of weeks, it's even going to be on the local cable channel. Personally, I can't wait to see who won't have the nerve to appear.

A debate in Chattooga County? Will it be rigged? Or will the questions consist of:
1.) What does a turnip seed look like?
2.) How many days does it take a cow pattie to dissolve into the ground?
3.) Do you drink water from a well or water from a rain barrel that you captured off the tin roof?
4.) Whidh of the following is not used in meth making: gas treatment fluids, Coleman fuel, ephdedrine and jock itch medication?
5.) True or Fales: Was the opening of the Beverly Hillbillies television show filmed on location in Lyerly?
